YUP - "test case dummies" ;)
And that is a good motto, "might not be what you think it is" and with us lymees it's probably more true and frequent then not.
Regardless, I'm glad you have relief. That sounds like a disruptive symptom... especially at night.
Hormones... ugghhh.
Hormone tests.... UGGGHHH.
I don't know if you remember, Girlie, but last year my ND was telling me that my hormone profiles suggested I was beyond menopause, yet I was still having (and still do have) clockwork regular periods and ovulation. Two years prior, they showed I was doing well--better than most my age and fertile.
I even shared results w/ the compounding pharmacist I use who specializes in menopausal women... he agreed w/ ND. ND prescribed a cream with "stuff" in it... I don't remember exactly but progesterone was probably one of the ingredients.
Honestly, I was so distraught at the idea of being in menopause (at my age it wouldn't be out of the question at all, and lyme & co can wreck your hormones, but I was also just hyper-sensitive to the reality that this illness has destroyed yet another aspect of my life--being able to conceive...) that I would just stare at the bottle of cream with disdain and never used it out of spite. LOL But seriously, something intuitively told me that I shouldn't take it.
I asked Pharmacist if I took it and there weren't hormone issues, would it then create imbalance and he said "no, not really." I didn't buy it. Love the guy but I was just in denial mode.
I wasn't having "menopausal" issues, either. No symptoms,
Then, it because kind of clear that the tests were just WRONG. I consulted a couple other people and they confirmed that there is no way those levels could be accurate with a regular cycle. So lyme & co just mess with hormone levels or the ability to detect them in the tests or whatever... I don't know... I don't care. I circled back to the pharmacist and suggested the tests were either wrong or that they were taken at a different time during my cycle than indicated (someone wrote down the wrong information). He agreed.
Whatever. Unbelievable and unnecessary drama that I really didn't need.
