Hi,
I need help interpreting my IGENEX results. My LLMD says it is Lyme, but my naturopath says it could be something else like a virus...
Basic Lyme panel results:
IFA >80 - Positive
IGM
CDC NEGATIVE, IGENEX positive
18 -
23-25 -
28 -
30 -
31 ++
34 -
39 -
41 +
45 -
58 -
66 -
83-93 +
IGG
CDC Negative, IGENEX NEGATIVE
28 +
41 +
All other bands negative.
I would like to know what the bands mean and why it is positive or negative?
Thank you!

I STILL always refer to the New To Lyme thread and see what the bands mean.
I also use this site

I don't know what your naturopath is thinking - it's Igenex positive - black and white.
Bands 31 and 83-93 - lyme specific -
Your ND - not lyme literate, I'm assuming?
Here is the Igenex criteria for a positive:
If two of the following bands are present:
23-25
31
34
39
41
83-93
exception: if only bands 41 and 83-93 are present then it's negative.
- if only bands 31 and 41 or bands 31 and 93 are present - then it's Indeterminate
But for CDC positive, it has to be two of these following bands:
23-25
39
41

So the IFA test is positive for lyme.
31 is the outer surface protein of lyme and you got a ++ for that.
41 is the detection of the Flagellin of Bp
83 is a high molecular mass protein. Specific for Bb.
and 93 is an immunodominant protoplasmic cylinder antigen, associated with the flagellum. Specific for Bb.
So.....yea, you have lyme.
