Pulsing ABX and herbals on same schedule?

I just changed my ABX protocols last month the take Ceftin and Bactrim 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off. while taking Alinia full time.

For herbals I have been taking GSE, Cat's Claw, CSA blend, Japanese Knotweed, and just added Houtyenia. Should I pulse these (or some of these) herbals on the same schedule as my Rx? I also take coconut oil and Colloidal Silver pretty regularly.

My thoughts are to at least stop all anti-microbial and anti-bacterial items on same schedule to encourage the bugs to come out and play, then blast 'em hard with both barrels. I think that all the herbals and non-Rx items I take work across microbial, bacterial and viral infections.

Thoughts?

I wouldn't pulse the herbs...they're not supposed to push the bacteria into cyst form like the antibiotics do.

The herbs have other benefits - for instance JK had anti-inflammatory properties...

I am also pulsing my antibiotics....M/W/F Rif and biaxin (or mino) plus Ceftin Th/F.
Two weeks on, one week off.

Went three weeks the last time...forgot to stop.

I think that girlie is right! According to Buhner you do not have to pulse herbs. In fact I think he said it is better not to.
I wish you luck! Hope this helps you to see some great progress.

I agree with Girlie and Denikeef -

In previous conversations it seemed everyone was agreed that pulsing herbal antimicrobials is unnecessary. And you definitely don't want to pulse other supportive herbs.

I'm pulsing abx but a 4 days on/3 days off schedule.

Thanks for the input.... we are all treading in new waters.

I did read somewhere that Cowden recommended "rotating" samento and banderol at the tail end of his condensed protocol.

Bryan Rosner's latest book has a lot of pages dedicated to frequently rotating protocols especially in the last 20% of healing. I'll revisit what he wrote, and he gets his input from numerous top LLMDs.

While I like Burner's approach he is sometime lacking in details and clinical experience.

Generally rotating is a different function than pulsing.

Rotating is commonly implemented to reduce opportunities for building resistance to something. Rotating is basically switching from one component to another, with constant "coverage".

Pulsing is done to draw the Borrelia out of hiding places (tissues, cysts) so that the spirochete can be targeted. Pulsing is literally a period of time with coverage (hitting the spirochete, which it senses so the spirochete goes into hiding), then a period of time without coverage (that tricks it into coming out of hiding for reproduction, etc), and then it's hit again during coverage.

Just wanted to clarify.

good point -p, I'll pulse my ABX and continue to rotate some of the herbals. 8*)
