Anger issues on abx?

Do you have Bartonella? I've heard of "Bart rage" and Lyme can do the same thing, especially when herxing on abx.

I don't know. I'm beginning to suspect it, based on my recent readings of the connection to the bad headaches that I have.

I asked a neurologist yesterday about getting me tested for it and Babesia (sp?) She said she see if they had the capability or might send out.

The thing is, it escalated to points pretty alarming to me while taking Flagyl, and very probable with the other abx's this past year. So I don't know whether to be looking at the abx directly, or the bacteria, or the bacteria reaction to the abx.

Reminds me of how I notice certain oral flea medications I give my cats. I suppose the flea has to bite the animal to be poisoned by the substance, so the medication somehow incites the fleas to bite. If they have a heavy infestation they will go quite frantic for an hour or so at the start of treatment. I've learned to flea comb them first,to get as many that way.

If this is how the bacteria is going to react, I should hit it will something gentler first, or be prepared to isolate myself until I can take a chartab.

Hmm, interesting for me to see this post as we've been pondering DS's angry outbursts. The latest happened at the end of a new 2 week on/2 off protocol. It happened at the end of the second week of medications right before he had his usual herx of exhaustion/irritating fevers and swollen knee. I'm beginning to think it's occurring before herxes or as the first symptom of a herx and therefore have started tracking it.

The "rage" end of the emotions spectrum is pretty common with neurotransmitter imbalances, which go hand-in-hand with lyme and GI problems and thyroid/adrenal (HPA axis) problems. Your neurotransmitters are hormones and chemicals created by your body that manage every emotion and lots of other things.

As was previously mentioned, parasites can also kind of "hijack" your brain and start causing psychological issues. Very common.

Detoxing is incredibly important - on many levels. Make sure you're hitting all of the areas for detoxing. Also, brain detox is quite helpful - try pinella and bur bur tinctures and anything to help reduce inflammation like japanese knotweed.

I mentioned this to my daughter this afternoon and she said she had definitely noticed the difference in me after stopping the flagyl.

The male friend that is around me all the time listened to my theory, but he was non-committal. He's one of those men that's afraid to say anything for fear it's the wrong thing, lol.

Anyway,it's enough that I see a huge difference in me.
