Herx or abx reaction?

Hi all,

My son's been having fevers with no cause or other symptoms and our family doc thought Lyme was the likely cause and gave him amoxicillin (800 mg per day spread across three doses).Today was day 6, and my son has had an AWFUL day - major rage, huge out of control feelings. I know the timing is right to Herx but it's also possible he could be having a reaction to the abx. I'm calling the doc in the morning but wondering if anybody has some experience they can speak to about figuring out whether he's herxing or it's something else. I've read amoxicillin can make you kind of crazy.

I hate seeing him like this, he is so distressed and exhausted and out of control.
