HI- I am on Day 21 of Doxy and think I have been having a HERX reaction since Day 7. Stopped for two days the past weekend as the spasms were just intolerable. Started back Monday and now here we go again. I am using Burbur drops, antioxidants, probiotics, magnesium, charcoal, Epsom salt baths with dry brushing, a lot of water!! with lemon most times, green tea and some herbs my naturopath gave me (too confused at the time to ask what they were). I am also dairy free, gluten free, mostly sugar free and still trying to find things to eat.
Am I going to Herx forever? I have the Buhner book and have ordered some herb for the arthritis tea as that is one of my issues also but the spasms and facial/body twitches are killer. Not sure exactly how to use the protocol and am just picking areas that I have the most issues.

You could stop again for a couple days - you stopped herxing because you got the toxin level down...but after a few more days on again...you're probably overloaded again - tipped the scale.
Also wanted to mention - be careful with the lemon juice and your tooth enamel. A couple of things to help with that: Rinse your mouth out with clear water when you've finished drinking the lemon water.
Do not brush your teeth right after drinking the lemon water...and I used straws...keeps the water to the back of the mouth.
There is a core protocol if you're treating the infection - and then there's some support herbs for specific 'issues'.
Are you just doing the support herbs with your antibiotics?

You stopped the antibiotics and you were doing fine?
Then you started back up?
What about
the herbs? Did you stop those and then start them back up at the same time as the antibiotics?

Referring to the senior members - but, from my experiencing, the herxing improves. Two months were really, really tough, maybe three, then things leveled off. I have been all herbal with the exception of a lucky dose of bactrim.
I know there are things that are supposed to help with making the herx a bit less.
I think Alka Selzer Gold is one of them. One Dr. (Horowitz) found the combination of both lemon/lime to be effective.
So sorry for your misery.
It eventually gets better... I am certain of that...

I couldn't continue and I am almost there again. The inflammation increases which increases the spasms. They are so severe my jaw will start popping. That is why they thought for 7 months I had TMJ...stress. Wrong!!! And no I never stop the herbs. I likely have to back off again the spasms are so bad. I have an HLA TYPE 04. So my MD said my own immune system is attacking itself also. 😂. She said it would cool down over time

Back off the herbs just a tad and up the detox a lot but do it slowly. Too much of detox or too much of herbs will make you herx.

Why we herx is discussed in this article and how dangerous it is.

Ok. More Epsom salts, dry brushing, I think I need to increase my water. I have read Clarinex can help the inflammation.
