Dan - not only do you have 31 and 41, you have 34 positive - which is lyme specific.

Even with 31 and 41 - it is very rare for band 31 not to be lyme specific. Dr. Horowitz says it's rare for it to be EBV and considers band 31 to be significant in diagnosing lyme disease.

But, you have an extra one anyway - you're positive....and it says so on your results.

Plus - you have symptoms....


You can do the Epitope test - on band 31 - that will confirm it's from Lyme (you don't need to do that, though).

I didn't see a tick on me either...or a rash. There are many, many people in the same boat.


I can't comment on caffeine - as I've never been a coffee drinker and I rarely have anything with caffeine.

But you are lucky in that you have a test that irrefutably indicates you're positive.

Studies have shown that these diagnostic tests recommended by the CDC--and many other tests that aren't included in their recommended list--miss most cases of lyme. So people are told they don't have it. But the reason most of these tests miss people who do have lyme has been proved in research, which shows the borrelia bacteria basically turn off the immune systems ability to sense the bacteria.

Half the battle is getting a diagnosis. You made it past that very difficult road for many people. You're in that transition stage that nearly all of us went through--where you're trying to wrap your head around all the noise. We get it. It's so smart of you to ask questions... we're here to help.

Dans, you asked about caffeine. I have had to go to decaf in my coffee and then can only do two cups. It affects my neuro symptoms severely.
