My wife got Lyme too

My wife western blot came back with one positive band for Lyme.I know it means that she got the infection. Our GP bless her heart is more lost than a blind person in a gang shoot out. She doesn't think it means Lyme. Anyways it really make me think now that Lyme is sexually transmitted, or we had a vicious tick really trying to destroy my family. Go figure!!!

Both wife and I have lyme. I figure that i got my lyme from my mom at a time when no one knew anything about lyme. As far as I know, they have now figured out that you can get lyme from your mom when you are born via the placenta. I figure i got this lyme from my mom because over her life span, i now can say she exhibited many of the symptoms of lyme. She passed away from Alzheimers and that is an end game of lyme. Also 10 years ago I was bitten by a tic and i had the usual bull's eye rash for over a month. My GP at the time told me there was nothing to worry about, since he said that there was no lyme in western Canada. My wife on the other hand has also got her lyme from her mom and strain of lyme has caused lots on mental problems in her family of origin. There is no problem with any of her dad's relatives, but on her mom's side there are suicides, severe mental problems which required putting people into mental assylums in the 1950's. Today many of these now cousins are having problems of their own. Both wife and I were tested for lyme 2.5 years ago and it is now confirmed that we do have it. Look at your mom and your wife's mom and see if either of those ladies have shown symptoms of lyme. Your answer may lie with your own moms. xfmlg

P - why do you think most people carry it? Or how? I'm asking because I believe that too but wonder how most are getting it. My family tests positive and my gut tells me it's not from a tick. It's entirely possible that I got it from my mother as she has classic lyme symptoms. Migraiting joint/muscle pain, both knees replaced in 40's. I grew up near Great Lakes so mosquitos come to mind.

Yes I have a LLMD and i'm doing herbs too. Actually I feel like I'm getting better by the day. I really think that I will beat this and it will not gonna take forever.

Funny, sad and relieved all at the same time when I read your post. I'm certain that Lyme is sexually transmit ruble they just haven't studied it yet. But I also believe most people carry the microbe, too. Anyway, it's smart to assume at this point that she has it and particularly if she is symptomatic, probably should treat for it.

Did you ever find an LLMD? Or are you going the herbal route?

First, I'm heartbroken about your stories of family and especially the precious kids. You cannot blame yourself, 1000Daisies. I know that is meaningless to say. Use that guilt as fuel to get them well despite the odds and to fight for the truth.
