Sure sign of a herx

For those that know me even after 2 years I'm having a devil of a time trying to decipher a herx from a flare up in systems, but at least with one recent situation I think I have it figured out.

Been on Planequil and Levaquin for 2 weeks after switching off Rifampin/Doxy for a few months. I had this chest "thumping" start about 2 days after starting new regimen and it was non-stop for several days until I started getting breaks. I decided to put the pedal to the medal and add in ISATIS/HOUTTINYA/ALCHORNEA 1 dropper 2x/day and the chest thumping was non-stop. sure sign to me the little buggers are being knocked off but too much to handle so backed off to 15 drops 2x/day and its died down.

there are a few approaches to when/how much of a new thing you introduce. for me given my understanding of my body and sickness duration, i like to go at it hard (but not too hard) and back off. that's what i did above. when the chest thumping dies down for a few days where it isn't very noticeable i'll up the herbs.

Thanks Rikky, that is good information. It really can be hard to decipher between a herx and a symptom from the illness.

Rikky, your method of attack seems similar to mine.
Hit it hard, back of slightly if needed. Then increase.

Also be aware that Levaquin can have some heart-related side effects: prolongation of QT interval.

My LLMD recommended having an EKG done before starting, and after being on it for a bit.

I never had any problems with it however, and your instance does sound like a herx from the herbs. Thanks for the info!
