LLMD visit today. I learned a new term Gliotoxin!

So went to my LLMD today and got my results back from my Mycotoxin Panel. They tested for 4 mycotoxins Ochratoxin, Aflatoxin, Trichothecene and Gliotoxin. Ochratoxin was 2.2 with a range of 1.8-2.0 so a bit high and what they call 'present' but the real whopper was the Gliotoxin which was 7.21 out of a range of .2-.3! My LLMD said he's never seen a higher number for this toxin before.

He's thinking my head issues are from too many toxins and these 2 are contributing or are most of the root cause.

So the mycotoxins can be caused by 2 things either Aspergillus mold in your house/surroundings or a byproduct of Candida. I'm having my house checked out and will look into anti-candida diets to really lock this down.

My LLMD has me starting something called Alli. It's a weight loss supplement but works good for clearing out toxins as its a fat soluble binder. I'm taking i 3-5x a week since it can overstimulate your bowels.

Thanks for sharing. Yes I tested low on that one ".23", "not present", but still I am concerned about it. Guess I couldn't take that one, as I cannot afford any weight loss. I'm right now looking into the Candida as well, even though my number is low. I did the mold testing and there was nothing, so I seem to be clear there. Did your doc talk to you about a nasal spray for the mycotoxins?

I heard good thing about jernigan cns antitox 2...that alli i thinknis in local mega store here...thanks ...what is your bart treatment like now? Hows the chest stuff?

LLMD wants me to continue to take the Planequil as I had a reaction to it and Igenex tested positive again for Babesia Duncani. In a week I'm starting Biaxin then a week after that Bactrim. These 3 will go after Babesia and Bartonella pretty hard and have some effect on Lyme.

The big unknown here is what symptoms are the mycotoxins causing? I'm going to take the Alli for a week before starting Biaxin to see if it has any noticeable impact.

rikky, what lab did you test for mold toxins through?
Is there a particular lab that's the best at it?
Thinking about getting some testing done next time I'm at my LLMD.

Mustard Seed its called Real Time Laboratories. They seem to be one of the big, well known ones that specialize in this area. I'm so glad my LLMD decided to test me for it!

A friend of mine used Alli and you still have to have a reduced caloric intake.

Also google alli and orange oil - just a warning of what to watch for.

Mike no I haven't I literally just found out today I have these 2 mycotoxins floating around. I went on Diflucan a few weeks ago for 10 days and the first day I got a really bad sore throat. I clearly have some kind of fungus/mold/yeast thing going on I probably had it before getting sick but once the tick diseases were introduced and long term antibiotics that pushed me over the edge.

I'm going to start the Alli on Wed and look into nearly eliminating foods that could harbor any kind of mold like peanut butter, etc.

Thanks happyjo. My LLMD says to try it as that's what he's using with his patients so i'll go with it for now. If I don't do well I'm sure there are other options.

Rikky- how does Real Time test? Blood, poo, needing doc approval with a sample sent in? And how does your doc differentiate between yeast, fungi (fungi Mr Mike-choose ha!) or house mold? One at a time & process of elimination?

Well, perhaps one more piece of the puzzle. As for the "alli," I've not heard good things, btw & personally, I would avoid.

Krimpet-what kind of nasal spray?

My former doctor recommended a silver nasal spray. Some people ise Argentyn silver nasal spray. I did both the nasal swab testing that tested for marcons which according to Buhner we all have. He says it is the role of the sinuses to block bacterias. I have an appt today with my doctor and will get his perspective on the marcons and realtime labs test.

happyjo its a urine test through Real Time Labs you have to get it done through your doctor. The source of the mycotoxin is a process of elimination I'm getting my house checked first. I read gliotoxins can also be produced by candida fungus so that could be the source of my issue as well.
