Does anybody ever feel like they get a wave that comes over them like they "don't know what to do next kind of feeling" even though the day is planned and there is plenty to do or even in the middle of a task or plan. It's not a procrastination. Maybe it is an organizational thing. It comes and goes. But it's a very strange feeling almost outer body feeling. I can't really explain or put it into words.

YES! I do. Its like all of a sudden I draw a blank and am confused. It doesn't happen all the time but when it does it will be several times that day.
Thats a good descript
ion and exactly how I feel. I think it is the neurolyme.

Gosh I hated those blank moments. I felt like a space cadet or I just had a frontal lobotomy. It would happen mid sentence and I was gone in loo-loo land somewhere... "oh never mind" became the words immediately after that feeling because I could not remember what I was even talking about
or what was my point.

YEEEESSS! That is it! You both described this very nicely too. Most people without Lyme and infections tell me they all get this and it's like a post-menopausal moment or a senior moment. But this is different and something I am trying to put my finger on to explain to a doctor and I can't. It's a blank moment but much more!! Just I don't know what to do next feeling. Yet intellectually I do know I have to go see a client, make a call, an errand, housework, laundry. It's also accompanied by not being able to put a sentence together sometimes. So FRUSTRATING.

I used to get this a lot, and even went into a time period where that's what I experience all day, every day. Boy that was miserable and SCARY! I couldn't follow written or oral instructions, or patterns that were laid out before me to follow - forget being able to carry on even small talk type of conversations.
It's a combination of the infections and the toxins. You may be able to keep it from happening so often by increasing your detoxing that focuses mainly on eliminating the toxin ammonia from the brain,

Traveler, I have it most of the time right now. I sometimes can't follow a story someone is telling me, oral and written instructions or at least I have to keep repeating and going over things. You say the ammonia toxin in the brain. Need to look not that. Thank you.

Is there anything specific about
Ammonia Detoxing besides the regular detoxing?

Dr. Jernigan has an ammonia detox formula, Neuro-Antitox II CNS/PNS.

Thank you. I would assume you start very slowly?

Definitely. I used it a couple of times, but only got up to 2drops, 3x a day.

And do not let yourself get dehydrated.
The brain is full of fluid (water) and just a 2% decrease is huge and noticeable for a lyme patient especially.
Water!!!

the bottle said 2-3 dropperfuls 2-3X / day. Seemed like a lot to start. Also, it only mentions Borrelia, do you think it helps for bart, and babesia neurotoxins? I'm just so tired of not having any clarity. It was interesting how Dr. J's site talked about
the ammonia interfering with neurotransmitters. Been on Cymbalta for about
5 months since in Feb b/c I had so much anxiety and depression. Also on herbals and brain support supplements all through doctors. Could barely function. Mood and energy is better somewhat. Sleeping great but Just feel like I can't organize my thoughts anymore. Reading is difficult a times too. Maybe this will help somewhat and would like to mention it on next appt and get her to muscle test me on it. Started with a Chinese Medicine practitioner last week and she mention that we have to be careful with detoxing and not replacing our system with nourishment as a person with long standing depletion from Lyme can weaken the system even more. Not sure how I feel about
that. I do notice the acupuncture and digestive herbs she gave me help with the jittery feeling.
Krimpet, Can you tell me what symptoms you used it for? Was it for neuro/brain issues? Also I read activated charcoal helps…again slowly I suppose.

Most bottles do state a much higher dosage than we should start with, if we are to be cautious. That's not to say that you have to start as low as I did. You know your body best. Yes, neuro brain issues was why I started taking it. I notice that Pinella works really well for me in that vein.
Yes, I did acupuncture for quite awhile, but then I started getting jittery so I had to stop. I think though it was a few things going on...adrenals, etc. If it is helping as it did I, for a long time, definitely continue.

That bottle is max dosage and you should start low and slowly move up.
I do believe you can detox too much, but I have not done it yet and I detox in many ways daily. I think your Chinese doc is telling you that balance is important. No overdoing it and no underdoing it. Meds in should balance the detox that is sending the toxins out.

Thanks to the both of you for this great advise. Balance IS always the key! And trusting how I feel!
A few years ago I went to a bio-resonance person in Ct. and he had me on pinella at one point and it really set me off, and I crashed not knowing what to expect and I just plugged through until I couldn't take it anymore, with mental/confusion/anxiety. Now I know not to do that and how potent these drops can be.

When people say they hammer or plug through a herx I just cringe. That is so hard on a body.
It is so much better for your body to go slow and make gentle changes.
This cannot be a race to get better. We are the tortoise not the hare.

PeteZa,
Yes, when I first started treating Lyme and Co's I didn't realize the neuro/psych relationship and just thought I was anxious and depressed, unable to read and organize, and sleep. Unfortunately, I joined this forum many years ago and didn't reach out and ask, or forgot!!. The practitioner I was using a few years ago didn't tell about
getting worse and I did't research it much.
