Low Dose Naltraxone For Lyme?

I was going to ask my Endocrinologist about Low Dose Naltraxone (NDL) for my Hashimoto's and am wondering if anyone has used it for Lyme. My first appointment with the LLMD is in November so I'm hoping to start NDL before that. Should I be worried about Herx? Thanks!

I probably cant say the fb group name on here, but out of those who have Lyme in the group the majority dont see a benefit. Me personally, I started LDN for Hashimotos, it wasnt until later that I found out I had Lyme/Bart. I have taken LDN for well over a year, but stopped taking it a week ago. I just wasnt seeing a benefit. Some do though, so dont let me steer you away from it. It really can be a life changer for some.

There are some members who have posted they are seeing results with LDN.

You can do a search - upper blue bar - right side "Search"
(right between "chat" and "members")

type Lyme- LDN or something like that.

I have had a lot of benefit from LDN... but your body is a dynamic place, particularly with all the changes impacted by our lyme treatment and some people hit a point when they are not longer reacting to it... rest from it... then start it up again and have success again. I say it's worth a try but be prepared for a rough start--you may not feel a whole lot better at first and may feel a little worse, most of the time you start with 1.5mg dose and work up to 4.5mg over a few months. Takes awhile but if you can stick with it, you might have success.

I used it at 3 different dosages. It never did anything at all.

I started low and slowly increased over several weeks...I think it was 6 weeks...but can't remember.

It didn't do anything good for me...and in fact (maybe coincidence) that is when my pain during the night started.


Maybe I should have stuck it out longer...but the addition of pain at night freaked me out.

I started LDN primarily for Hashimoto's but I do also have chronic Lyme. It's been great for me - the effects are subtle and I take it with D,L phenylalanine in order to maximize endorphin production. Before, I was feeling very defeated by the Lyme. Since starting the LDN, it's given me the 'boost' I need mentally, with energy, and some pain reduction that I needed in order to get back on the horse so to speak and really tackle everything. I started at .5 and have been titrating up - currently at 3mg
