Hi all,
I have been ill for the past three months with what began as a flu-like virus and has included along the way a list of symptoms that wax and wane including: chills/ sweats/ flushing, strong headaches, indigestion, cloudy thinking, exhaustion, heaviness in my legs when lifting them, palpitations, and more recently severe pain in the cervical spine which makes sleeping through the night difficult.
I was tested for Lyme through IGenex and my GP believes my tests are inconclusive and is not sure how to proceed. The results are listed below:
IFA, B. Burgdorferi: 40, equivocal
IGM Western Blot: negative
18: +
23-25: IND
30: +
34: IND
41: ++
IGG Western Blot: negative
30: +
41: ++
45: +
Multiplex Burgdorferi Serum (confirmed by Southern Blot):
Genomic: negative
Plasmid: positive
Multiplex Burgdorferi Whole Blood:
Genomic: negative
Plasmid: negative
My GP is open to treating me with long course antibiotics but does not want to do so if it is not warranted.
I live in Toronto, Canada and am looking for a Lyme literate doctor who Would see me for a consult or who would liaise with my GP.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
