LLMD needed in North Jersey/NYC

Hi I am new to this forum and was looking for a LLMD in the Essex County area but would be willing to travel to anywhere in north Jersey or NYC. I have a more than willing primary care physician to help me but wanted to seek the advice of a Dr. that has some serious experience in the area.

The brief synopsis: Had an EM rash appear Friday morning, I would call it not a slowly appearing/expanding rash, and was diagnosed at the medical center at my work 2 hours later. I was given 100mg doxy 2xday for ten days and started the first dose Friday evening. From everything I am reading this is probably to low a dose and not long enough. I am seeing my primary tomorrow and hoping to get the Rx extended, especially since I am coming to the conclusion that since the rash was very fast to appear that I have probably been infected before but was acutely asymptomatic at the time but now that I look back I probably had it all along.

I am glad that you have found us as I am sure you will have a lot of questions.

If you have not already you will want to go to the "New to Lyme...start here" because there is a lot of information there that will be of help! Also you should be doing a few detox methods to get rid of the toxins that the abx will cause. www.tiredoflyme.com/detox-methods.html

The rash can appear quickly, but if you have had symptoms that indicate Lyme, it is possible you have had it longer and the LLMD can help you determine that. There are times people have gotten lyme and not even known they had a tick!

I would definitely do the abx longer. That definitely is not long enough. Hopefully others will be along that do abx and will be able to help you to know how much and how long. I don't have experience with antibiotics.
