I'm musing at the fact that my doctor jokes that "if it's rare and obscure, then we can count on you getting it". In addition to the lyme I've had a molar pregnancy, several undocumented reactions to anesthesia and other medications, rare side effects to some medications, been in a house as it was struck by lightning... twice in 10 years and last night I was bitten by a feral kitten that is now being tested for rabies. I joked that since there's only a 0.000001% chance of contracting rabies, that I would get it. My husband looked at me and says, "how come you can't win the lottery?" Haha. Nope.

I've also had a few really rare things happen during pregnancy that caused some even more rare things to happen to my son. Like really rare. Is there some way to harness this super power and use it for good? Haha

You should try with lottery, really, maybe you will be lucky :)

And about these things that you posted, I can tell you only about rare side effects and reactions that you have - I think your body is supersensitive and reacts more than other people.

I'm laughing at you right now, really hard.

The bit about lightning striking your house twice, followed by being attacked by a feral kitten, I lost it there.

I feel like such a terrible person, but I cannot help it.

Not a big, mangy dog, some old, ragged street cat, but a kitten. Man.

Haha.. good (bad) stuff.

I won the infection lottery ..i tested positive for toxoplasmosis and bartonella ...seriously cats are witches ...cute but witches ..

Jingels~You also have the rare ability to see the funny & absurd -and- have folks lovin' you for it! Geezch-Louise re the lightning! Maybe it was mother nature trying to electro zap the buggers within-ha! smhair

I have said before, that if I won the lottery on my list would be the doc's & labs that have diligently helped so many & help for the ailing on this forum. So let's go out there & win & share that lottery, k?! :)

You are so NOT alone, Jingles! I earned the nickname of Abby-normal from two doctors! Although I had an ectopic pregnancy instead, I also had /have many of the same things to deal with. My son and I are lucky to be here, as he got stuck during delivery and they had to push my hips apart, and overlap his skull to get him out, a cat that had Bart kept reinfection me, lots of meds don't work on me, or I have "the strangest reactions" to them and so on.

I was kind of happy when I found this forum and discovered I wasn't quite so weird after all!

And our super power? smilewinkgrin It's managing to survive all of this and then laugh about it later, as Happyjo said!

Unfortunately, it seems so! Just keep finding ways to laugh at these things, because crying only runs your makeup.... and I don't wear any!!! turn LOL!!

And, you're opinion is just as important as everyone else's!! You have experiences and opinions on things that most people never have to deal with, so when they too are finding themselves suddenly dealing with one of those weird things, you are uniquely qualified to be a source of comfort, knowledge, and compassion for them!!
