Which is more reliable, a standard Lyme titer ordered through my son's regular pediatrician or a test through igenex?

My son is 2.5 years. Blood draws are absolutely nightmares for us and I want to make sure I get whichever test done to get the best chance of knowing if he has contracted Lyme from me.

Thank you all so much and sorry for the frequent posts. I am new to this whole Lyme world and to this forum and just learning how all the posting works. I am also very sick and my brain is not working up to speed so please forgive me!

Post as many questions as you have. Never ever worry about that.

I just did a quick site search (under Join HealingWell) for children with Lyme. Always include Lyme in any search you do.

I found this-see the link to the first part of the thread. Chapelle is still an active member and she is always happy to help others. The person that you emailed for doctors names also posted regarding treating a child. You could ask them.

My pleasure. My "babies" are 28 and 25 and as much as I hate this disease I am so grateful it's me dealing with it and not one of my kids.

If you click on a members name you can see their last ten posts. It's helpful sometimes.

I would go through Igenex. The standard tests for children won't be any more accurate than they are for adults.

That being said... I found out I had Lyme when my son was about the same age as yours. I realized that my son was having some symptoms, so I brought him to my LLMD. Our LLMD didn't bother testing him because of his age; he mad a clinical diagnosis and started him on an herbal protocol. The little guy responded positively to the herbs, and that was all the test I needed!
