Does it have that FOS?
Everybody's different, but I know that stuff really screwed me up. One could argue "herx" or die off from the probiotic interacting with the y/f overgrowth, but it did not feel that way to me. I could very well be wrong in doing so, but I tend to go with my initial impression when I'm dealing with reactions to things.
If it pushes me to worry, anxiety, and/or causes very unsettling symptoms, it's bad.
Other things, they'll provoke responses that are similar to those (anxiety, unpleasant symptoms are a part of herxing), but there's always a sense of peace, safety hiding beneath them, because something in me knows that they are working for the better.
It sounds crazy, I know, but I listen to it.
Anyway, yeah, those FOS, I stay away from them.
As for the "good" yeasts when dealing with y/f, I don't know many others, apart from S. Boulardii.
Though, the Garden of Life Ultimate Care probiotic I am using has a couple others in it. I haven't been having any trouble, at least none that I can tell. I just started using it again though, so I am gonna have to see.
Saccharomyces unisporus, Saccharomyces turicensis, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Saccharmomyces exiguus
I think that Saccharomyces cerevisiae is Brewer's yeast. I remember looking it up after I found it was in another supplement I was interested in. I think they're all related though (obviously, maybe), so.. I don't know.
This requires research, which I am not up to..
