Hi crzhorse!-
Welcome to our community. I am so sorry to hear that you have RMSF.
For information on finding an ILADS (International Lyme and Associated Disease Society) trained Lyme Literate Medical Doctor (LLMD) in your area, you will need to enable your email option in your profile in order to receive any recommendations, as we don't allow doctor's names and contact information to be posted on the forum for several reasons. Here is how to enable your email:
1. Click on "My Profile"
2. Click on "Edit Profile"
3. Click on " Show my email"
4. Click on "Submit"
You can email the Tick-Borne Disease Alliance at
[email protected] for LLMD referrals and you can go to
tbdalliance.org to learn more about
these infections.
You can go to The Lyme Disease Association and search for LLMD's 3 times in a month. You have to register first. Here is the link:
www.lymediseaseassociation.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article &I'd=277&Itemid=74ILADS has their own referral system as well:
ilads.org/ilads_media/physician-referral/And a new resource
www.LymeDoc.orgYou will want to find a well trained doctor, not one that has self proclaimed themselves as a LLMD or an ID Doctor (Infections Disease Doctor) , as ID Doctor believe Lyme is hard to catch and easy to treat, and don't believe in the reality of chronic Lyme. Go to the ILADS site to read the new (2014) Treatment guidelines to get you started on your healing journey:

I copied all the information listed above from Traveler. She is a Moderator here.
You can also start a new thread and ask - Looking for LLMD in/around __________
fill in the blank for your closest city or state that you are willing to travel to.
A ticks saliva is very dirty. So, there is a very high possibility that you also have Lyme disease, and co-infections. Babesia and Bartonella are co-infections.
Please take a look at the "New to Lyme?.....Start Here!" thread. This is located at the top of this forum. There is a lot of great information about
tick diseases, symptoms, probiotics (for the GI), way to detox, and so much more.
There are a lot of friendly and knowledgeable people here. We all try our best to help each other.
Best Wishes!
