Treatment involves two (or more) abx together - mono therapy is not recommended.
You should start with one - for a few weeks before adding the second one.
Rifampin is an antibiotic for treating Bartonella.
There is a class of abx called fluoroquinolones that are effective, but they come with a black box warning for risk of tendon rupture.
Also recently another risk of peripheral neuropathy has been added.
Personally I wouldn't take that class of abx unless it was a last resort.
Often LLMD's will start with Lyme abx for awhile before targeting Bart - a combo of a tetracycline (minocycline or doxycycline) is combined with a macrolide (Azithromycin or biaxin) is frequently prescribed.
The combo may have some effects on Bart.
Ceftin, amoxicillin are Lyme abx.
Some combos for Bartonella: minocycline and Rifampin, doxycycline and Rifampin, Biaxin and Rifampin, Azithromycin and Rifampin.
A LLMD from Seattle has an online Lyme treatment book that I subscribe to - I think it's $4.99 monthly.
I often refer to it.
www.treatlyme.net. He lists the dosages of all the antibiotics.
For Babesia treatment - you are looking at Antimalarials - Mepron, Malarone, Alinia, ....
I haven't listed all the different abx - there are more...but just giving you a few ideas.
