Zithromax Causing Major Herx?

I have been diagnosed with Lyme, Bartonella and Babesia.

I started Zithromax several weeks ago as well as IV Rocephin. The Rocephin greatly cleared my neurological symptoms but my joint, muscle and bone pain flared up to the point where I contemplated being in a wheelchair.

It is definitely the zithromax, I take it at 6:00pm and a half hour later my body feels extremely heavy and bloated and my bones start hurting terribly. It is like a deep, embedded pain with extreme fatigue.

I have heard others taking Zithromax with no problems so I'm wondering why this specific antibiotic flares up all of my symptoms and what infections it may be killing?

Honestly, this is the only antibiotic that I've taken that has caused a debilitating reaction, whether it be a herx or a negative side effect from the drug.

You should definitely talk with your LLMD and he or she can change it for something similar

birthday suit - the macrocodes (zithro and biaxin - for examples) do have some action against bartonella.
Although, it's usually not enough to irradicate it.

Others have posted that bartonella can cause bone pain..so I'm thinking it could be a bart herx.

I think its chasing em around ..i am on the same ...rocephin helped but i believe just suppresses bart
