tongue tremors?

ive had just about every symptoms of lyme ive heard about but now this new one is worrying me. when i stick my tongue out it moves by itself, and sometimes when im not. it feels like a tremor.
i have bad internal tremors since i tried doxy back in feb, (did it trigger it or would it of just happened, i know not) so im used to them over my body (sometimes legs, sometimes arms, sometimes chest, moves around) but this symptom just seems bizarre?
lots of scary stuff when i google it (ofc) anyone else get this? it didn't happen until i tried a new abx, and though ive stopped that abx, its not gone away.

I'm sorry you have lyme disease, but I am glad you found your way here.
It's a great group of people here - lots of knowledge and support.

I have internal vibrations and sometimes internal tremors. I used to have external tremors...but they've subsided.

How long since you stopped the doxy? Are you doing anything else for treatment?

What about detoxing? Are you familiar with it...and employing multiple methods daily?

Sorry for all the questions...just wanting to get some information that will help us ...help you.

Yes I get tongue tremors too along with everywhere else.

I have pins and needles in my tongue( been going on for at least two years sometimes more intensely than others but fairly consistently). Have also felt tremors in tongue and have vibrations throughout my body almost constantly. There are times when my mouth feels just exhausted from the nervy stuff .

does anyones tongue move around when they stick it out?

im back on amox right now (3 x a day) its the only abx that ive been able to tolerate. things have settled down in the last 24 hours thankfully and now the tongue is just burning.

I haven't checked lately....but awhile back when I would stick out my tongue...on one side it was moving underneath the 'skin'. like worms under there or something.

I'm going to go check.

When I stick mine out it twitches.

Also, if I touch my top teeth behind my bottom teeth they vibrate. I think that's the right word to describe it. Almost like chattering but mildly.

thanks its good to know im not alone. i spoke to my lyme doc about it today and he thinks its a new lyme symptom (im getting dizzy spells now too) as my 3 x amox abx is not a high enough dose (hes trying to get me to take others abx alone side it but i cant tolerate them) so now hes going to increase my amox to a higher dose. ugh hopefully this will pass soon.

Has your LLMD prescribed Probenecid with your amoxy? You might want to ask him about it.

It isn't another antibiotic - but it's a medication that will keep your amoxy blood levels higher for longer.

I was taking 1000 mg 3X daily of Amoxy plus the probenecid.

ps) my lyme doctor only wants me to do 4 x amox 500mg a day for now, (instead of 3 x 500mg a day so it's a start!) i think he's not given it in a higher dose before and doxy is the usual protocol.

I did have some symptoms improve when I was on amoxy and biaxin...but that's how it's been with all my protocols...not one really stands out better than the others.
I haven't had one protocol where after a few months I've had significant improvement.

I have just ever so slowly improved and 'lost' some symptoms over time...


I have to say that the amoxy was easy to take, though. No digestive issues...no side effects...etc.

yes for me amoxy has given me no persistent issues or side effects , (the only one though, and ive now been on 5 abx which ive had to stop) seems i get on really well only with penicillin.
i think im still recovering from the minocycline i had a for 3 weeks, which started the tongue tremors ect - and its only a week ago that i stopped - so still hanging on for some of the symptoms that started on it to fade in time, i didn't know it could damage your ears and have had issues with balance within 4 days of taking it. i don't want to try any other class of abx after that. its not easy this lyme recovery stuff.

Your body's reaction to the mino - could have been a herx...rather than a side effect.

Mino crosses the blood/brain barrier well..so it can have a good effect against any neuro symptoms.

The tongue tremoring could very well be attributed to a herx because of that.

my herxes are usually feeling exhausted and having more muscle and joint aches, tremors and some headaches. when i first got the new sytoms i also though it was a herx and felt pleased to see myself getting so unwell, since its a good sign isnt it.

but by week 3 - the herx as it was not the same, ive been on strong iv meds before and not felt anything like this, its a bit long winded so i wont go into it but i had a strange side effect while on it - of blue and purple blotches appearing over my body & alas as ive been left with tinnitus ever since and a balance issue (my lyme doc thinks i may of damaged my ear, but this usually correct itself thankfully in time) i still can't eat food as its left me with some ibs issues (though i can cope with soup) hopefully all these will sort themselves out, but i think its more of a allergic reaction then a herx.

wish there was an easy way to tell.
