Tonight after taking my usual Doxy and a tablet of Cefixime, got horrible pressure in the top of my head, all my teeth started to ache. First time something like that.

I just wonder - is it Lyme, is it herx, is it side effect of the drugs?

It is really horrible at the moment.

VeryLuckyGirl - tetracyclines (doxy/mino) can cause pressure in the skull. (intracranial hypertension)
It is rare though, and usually resolves once the doxy is stopped.



I had pressure in my head (behind my eyes) prior to taking any antibiotics...and when I take minocycline, for the first couple of weeks, my head feels funny...little dizzy...etc.


How long have you been on the doxy and Cefixime?

You should up your detox...and maybe not take your usual dose tomorrow...and see how you feel.

I have had Doxy for 4 weeks now. But I started feel worse now after I starting on Doxy with Cefixime. Before that I had only Doxy and without any problems. I really do not want to get rid of Doxy, I feel like I need it.

I am detoxing like crazy. Started with Burbur today, that is also new, but I doubt if that would give pressure in the skull.

Is that pressure dangerous? Like I could get stroke or smthing?

From what I've read, it's usually benign...but in rare cases can cause vision loss. I'm posting some links.
But, remember all of the pharma antibiotics (not just the tetracycline class) we take come with their own 'list' of side effects/risks.

I haven't experienced that with Burbur.

Maybe back off on the Cefixime tomorrow for your first dose...but keep the doxy...and see.

You may be just doing too much 'killing' and not flushing out the toxins...

Do you have Pinella to take with the Burbur? It is good for brain/nerve cleansing.

Thank you Girlie for your help and for the links, sounds bad, that pressure of the head. Hopefully it is just my Lyme which giving the headaches. Hopefully it will go over by tomorrow.

I have pinella, I will take some more before going to bed. My vision is Ok, but I have pain in my teeth and also in my ears now. Lyme gives so many and so changing symptoms all the time. :(
