So a few years ago I had acute Lyme that was cdc positive and only did 2 weeks of doxy. Since then I've had on and off Lyme symptoms and finally saw a Lyme literate doc. Just ran some blood work and only had positive bands on 41 for both igg/igm

Just looking for some explanation

Wow - years ago positive and you only did 2 weeks of doxy? I am so very sorry. You should have had much more than that.

Different labs can be one explanation.

Hiding spirochetes can be another.

You are not producing any antibodies to show up on the test.

I think all of those, or just one can be the reasoning.

Diagnosis is based on symptoms, not test results because tests results can be falsely negative.

As PeteZa said, you are probably not testing positive because your body is no longer producing antibodies because the spirochetes are hiding. This is pretty common with chronic lyme.

Two weeks of abx was just not enough to kick it. You still have lyme and I am glad you are seeing a LLMD because further treatment will be needed. I am assuming that the LLMD will treat you and is not dismissing Lyme?

Yeah she prescribed the abx before the labs even came in. She wants to start me on Zithromax then go from there

Unfortunately - even when caught early (as in your case) - two weeks isn't enough...sorry you were undertreated the first time around.

But, you have a LLMD now and can start treating again...that's good!!!
