If you are having a heart attack they say you should chew an aspirin and let it dissolve in your mouth as it gets into the blood faster. I have applied this to my tinctures as well and just drop directly on toungue. It does taste bad. Anything wrong with this ?

I'm not sure if the tinctures will burn the mucous membranes or not - remember they are in alcohol (or glycerin if you have been able to find them that way).
I do know that the tinctures were designed to be added to a bit of water - or juice in some cases. So taking them with a swallow of water sends it to the stomach, where they should be processed unless you have been directed by someone knowledgeable with those specific herbs to do otherwise.

Fronton when I first began taking Beyond Balance I took them directly into my mouth. They tasted pretty darn good but they are made with glycerin and not alcohol. My next visit to my llmd, I asked and he called Beyond Balance just to verify that I should take them with a little water and swallow that.
Then I began adding in Buhner's herbs via tincture.
Then I called the herb shop in the closest town and I was advised by the herbalist that it was okay to take tinctures directly into my mouth, but that the alcohol could burn or the herbs could taste awful. She said most people prefer to take with a little water and chug it down. So I did mine in a little water and chugged it down.

I put my herbs in a swig of water. Taste horrible. Some herbs taste good like Hawthorn berry (because it's berries), some are tolerable like japanese knotweed or cordyceps. But cats claw and andiographis are horrible.
I just swig them down and it's mind over matter.

yes Girlie Cryptolepis is what I meant, not cats claw. Cryptolepis and Andiographis taste so bad lol (especially at the same time).

Mine all went in the same glass with a little water and I could not tell you what was horrible or not.
I can tell you that MC-BB-2 tastes delicious!!! It is such a wonderful hint of cloves.

I really like the taste of Enula. It's a nice smokey, peaty flavor. Reminds me of my favorite scotch, Laphroaig.

Well I am new and a moron but I put however many drops in a small glass with 6 ounces (I understand 4 ounces is some possible "rule"?) but before I ever add all my Tinctures, I have added my teaspoon of Calm Magnesium powder so I have myself a FAST Gin like "fizz" with all those bubbles distracting me from that oh so nasty flavor.

Just because you aren't a scholar with herbs certainly doesn't mean you're a moron!! We all have to start somewhere!!

Thank you Traveler. If I ever get well enough to even stand up on my own again, well that would be enough for me. Why in God's name did such a plague as Lyme ever become ALLOWED to prosper & thrive as it does. The mishandling of this disease is even worse that the response to Aids was. Why the entire World doesn't unite against this to help all of us not NEED to know all that we need to learn is a tragedy...
