Vitamin D helps support the body. Many with Lyme are vitamin D deficient.

The main issue with these studies is that they are done in a test tube - the Lyme bacteria acts VERY differently in a test tube than it does in the body.

Also, those Lyme bacteria that are grown in a lab, don't respond the way the ones retrieved from a human. This is also a part of the 'great controversy'.

The best thing to do is to stick with those treatments that have been found successful in clinical use - in other words, those treatments that are currently working for real people in real life.

I've watched many Lyme patients "chase after" new treatments, and in many instances, they have not worked. Should we try new things? Why of course! But, make sure that you aren't among the first to try it, make sure that there has been success made with it first. It will really cut down on the feeling of chasing one's own tail.

And remember what works for one, may not work for another. I think that's part of the frustration.

I think that's a LOT of the frustration!! LOL! Imagine if we all could use just one or two protocols and know that they would work to heal us.
