I think Albenzadole hit the hardest. I have noticed over the course of treatment that anti-protozoal agents seem to have been responsible for most of the healing of musculoskeletal issues. Liposomal artemisinin pretty much completely healed my upper neck a year or two ago.

I do often notice nodules in the areas that flare up. Several of them have been in the muscle along my spinal cord and I've wondered if it is the infection spreading through the nervous system / CNS.

I'm actually off to do a bike ride up in the mountains now. It starts at 10k feet and I figure I might as well do it while it's still sort of warm up there.

They are mostly listing precription Pharmaceutical Rx on that page (?)

Did you do any non RX herbs for that?

I'm not seeing a LLMD anymore, no other Dr will do odd Rx, so I'm out of luck with those Rx's.

As a flatlander, its takes me a few days for to get used to that elevation. Rode up to/on 14,000 ft single track in Colorado, was easy to get winded, and I was in shape then LOL.

Dr. C's protocol includes some herbal elements. I've added in Coptis Chinensis and Mimosa Pudica. They seem to hit it but not as strongly as the pharmaceuticals. An option is to get them from overseas if you're self treating.

The ride I did today wasn't too difficult but I definitely felt the elevation. Almost all the rides I've done this summer were starting here around 5k feet and going up to 8k at the most.

I was hoping to get this one in this season before it turns too cold, but not sure if it's going to happen. The grade is gentle but it's long and tops out at 12k.

Interesting PDF link. The confusing thing about all the additional ills that can come with lyme is 75% of the symptoms overlap. I'm sure many people have additional "bugs" but at low enough levels to just deal with it. Half of those symptoms listed are also low thyroid and candida symptoms.

I wouldn't want an Rx for these unless it was proven I had something. At this time only symptoms I have left is muscle adhesion/knots and fatigue, nothing else. Herbs can be a safer option (usually) to "test" for certain "bugs".

I wonder how old 1940's carburated cars were even able to drive up that 12,000 ft road. No power after 10,000 ft. untill 90's fuel injection. Just getting west out of Denver up the mountain on 80 must have been tough before the 90's autos. I'll always remember those Pika critters past the tree line, the only life I ever saw on trails that high. Only place lightening ever stuck BELOW me too - that was freaky. Lightening below you can make you mess your pants! Cool state, triple your non-mountain ETA for driving though.

Yeah I agree many of the symptoms overlap. I just think that the infections tend to find any inflamed area on the body and colonize it. Since we can't eradicate the infections 100% I'd say there is a decent chance that any remaining trigger points have some degree of infection.

If I had this going on I'd probably try using a strong essential oil like Thyme topically in a carrier oil. The oils penetrate well, kill pretty much everything, and bust biofilm. If they caused some kind of a flare you could then try to use other targeted antimicrobial agents to figure out what it was exactly.

Yeah I've encountered some Pikas up there, cute little things. It was 70 degrees out and I think for them that's like a sauna. One of them jumped into this cold stream apparently to cool off.

Serrapeptase is honestly a miracle. Started taking it about 4 days ago. Here’s my backstory. I have been suffering from pain and numbness in my hands and weakened upper body muscles along with 100s of knots that you could literally feel under my skin. It felt like marbles and rice. I could not make a muscle, I was easily fatigued when using my upper body. My neck hurt constantly and it was always tight. Nothing helped. Not muscle relaxers, not seeing a chiropractor for 3 days a week for a year. Nothing. And the doctors didn’t believe me and they didn’t know what was going on. I’ll try just about anything and I came across serrapeptase on a fb video. Ordered it on Amazon and started taking it in the morning and at night. I started noticing the pain and numbness gone and weirdly my feet started peeling away all the dead skin, and my body also was drying and like renewed ? lol weird but I put lotion on and moved on. This evening I started to notice the lumps under my skin are almost completely gone and I can fully form a muscle. I have zero pain. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever felt this good ever. I can’t even believe this is real. Deff not dreaming.

Thats awesome you found pain relief from Serrapeptase. Outcomes seem depend on the source/cause of the pain.

Unfortunately that and the other two similar supplements (I wont try to spell them lol) it didnt do hardly anything for me.

Do you, or did have tick infections (didnt say)?

This is an old 2016 post, (and im surprised your googling found it!) if you have an intro post or other questions, you can make a new post. We dont have an official new member /intro post area though.

Hi Astroman,
I have continued running and doing strength training throughout my Lyme journey but I only get pain in my left hip along the sciatica every time I’m on my period. It’s excruciating and can last from 1-3 weeks.
I just started on Rifampin and Hydroxychlor along with liposomal oregano, clove and cinnamon and NAC, Saccro B and Probiotic.
I was on the Zhang protocol but temporarily stopped as it made me herx with the new meds.
I can feel specific painful knots and even when I’m not in pain I can feel the nerve that hurts just by running my finger around it.
So far it has gone away but next month will be the telltale sign. The Chinese herbs target the nerve by bringing more circulation to it to try and reverse the nerve damage. My Lyme MD suspects Bart is causing my pain so I’m hopeful.
I feel very exhausted after exercising but I attribute that to my body trying to heal and all the medicine and supplements I am on.
I refuse to stop my routine and give in to the Lyme so I keep going. On bad days I walk instead of running and on really bad days I tell my trainer to take it easy on my legs.
I ran a half marathon last year in pain when I didn’t know I had untreated Lyme.
Listening to your body is definitely important and not pushing when you have a bad day is ok. I have learned to just enjoy what I can do and not being negative about what I can’t. Every day is a journey and I feel better from when I started this but I cannot compare it to how fit I used to be.
I will let you know if this treatment cures the pain, unfortunately PT, cryo, acupuncture has had no effect on it.

UpstategirlNY - What specific Chinese herbs are you using?

Most of the various forms of PT didnt do much for me before tick infections were treated. I did a lot of muscle adhesion release along my left Sciatica nerve, which did help, but I repeated it often.

Ive improved a lot after this post from 2016, but not 100%. Im going to try Accupunture on my re-injured left shoulder.

Astro man!,

I did not have a tick bit. It was random in occurrence and my pain numbness and weakness started over a year ago. My neck chest arms and stomach muscles were painful and lumpy and I was swelling all the time. Running became hard. Pushing a vacuum and cleaning became exhausting and painful. But this stuff had absolutely fixed everything.
