I searched the forum for the answer to this, but couldn't find a question quite like it.

I've searched google and seen the red stretch mark looking rashes. But, can the stretch marks looking rashes be a silver color with Bartonella? At first I randomly noticed them a few weeks ago. I've lost/gained a considerable amount of weight before in the past, so I didn't think anything about them.

But, they definitely look like they've grown longer and more jagged over the past few weeks, and it looks like tonight that more and more are beginning to rise. I posted about itching the other day, but it seems like one of the places that has started itching the most is there near the "stretch marks."

the password is "bartonella" if it asks for it. You can't really tell by the picture how long or what color they are. I'd say that now the longest streak is about the size of your pointer finger. There are three pretty long marks that I don't remember being there or that obvious. There are about 7 smaller streaks on the other side that have newly come up too. Guess I'll be talking to my doctor tomorrow.

What are other bartonella-specific symptoms?

Yes ..i am olive and streaks are lighter ..just confirmed bart ...try some houttynia ...about to try rifampin /zith ....burning feet ,moving shin pain ..nodules ..boils..rashes ..dr jaller attributes all skin manefistation to bart . He is loco but correct ...there was a good system page a few threads ago

They do look like they could be bartonella 'scratches'.


symptoms - foot pain (bottom), rib pain, shin pain, swollen (and sometimes sore) lymph nodes, nervous system symptoms (nerve pain, 'vibrations', twitching)

MA10, I have those exact same marks from bartonella.

The marks you have, they don't come and go right? As in they just stay there?

The marks you see, well in my experience and in my case,

They are basically like bartonella scars. As in bartonella was very active in those sites but is not active there anymore. You can also get the red ones that look like that but if they are not that severe they go away. The white ones don't go away. I bet you there was a time when the picture you are showing had those marks as very red. I had the same thing happen to me. See some of the Bart marks go away and most go away, but some don't. In my case I consider them bartonella scars that will not go away, but after treatment and with time and good health they will slowly fade.

It's really strange, because I haven't ever noticed any red marks that looks like the classic bartonella marks.
These white lines that are here now I have just started noticing. As in, the white lines are the ones that keep appearing. I try to be very observant to symptoms and such, but I just don't remember there being 7 marks on the left side. haha. I keep scratching my brain trying to remember if I had ever seen so many marks, but it seems to me that the "scars" or whatever that's there now are the ones that keep multiplying. Strange stuff. Maybe I'm not observant. Maybe there were red marks at one point, but I feel like I would have noticed it. lol. Unless they appeared before I had no clue about the Lyme and I just shrugged them off.

Girlie, the symptoms you mentioned sound familiar. I've just recently started noticing an increase in the twitches, shin pain, shooting pains, etc. What about mental manifestations of Bart?

I tested negative for Bart but I feel like I may have it; I have a ton of shin pain and shooting pains, burning feet, and bilateral joint pain. I do have the white stretch marks - which I always just thought were stretch marks - but now I'm wondering the same thing! Sometimes they are very pronounced and I have noticed new ones!

Is it a coincidence that these stretch marks are mostly near the joints that I have the most problems with? (knees and hips)

pmm73, I also tested negative for Bart and Babs, but the tests are just so unreliable. And for me, as I have continued treatment, more and more symptoms are being unveiled. It's like pealing and onion. As you get the surface levels, deeper symptoms often surface. At least that's what I'm saying.

Well, it won't let me in to see the pics, but I know that Bart marks can be silvery/white as well as red. Bart also produces spider veins. Spider veins increase every time I am not treating Bart, yet disappear when I'm healed/well into treatment for Bart.

Traveler, even with the password it wouldn't let you in? Weird.

I know that the Byron white A-L can target the Bart, but not as efficiently as the Bart tincture. I wonder if the A-L has been enough to surface the Bart symptoms but not enough to actively treat it. I think I'm leaning towards doing a Bart challenge with the Byron white Bart formula and seeing if symptoms get better or worse.

I have seen my foot pain get better in the mornings, but the other symptoms continue to worsen. I've made something mad. Haha.

Traveler, I messaged my doc to see what he suggests. I think he will be intrigued that these symptoms have started. He gets so excited when we uncover a different part of the puzzle. Haha. I'll keep you updated.

I am pasting a symptom list from my LLND's site...you will see anxiety and panic attacks are on it.
I did have that initially when my 'lyme' symptoms hit me.


. Cognitive difficulties and brain fog

• Auditory and visual hallucinations

• Anxiety and panic attacks

• Pronounced neurological pain, shooting sensations, sensations of being plugged into an electrical current, vibratory sensations

• Severe headaches

• Light and sound sensitivity

• Blurred vision

• Decreased peripheral vision

Some key note physical exam findings that often clue into bartonella treatment include:

• Sore soles, especially in the morning, with the sensation of walking on pebbles

• Stretch mark like rashes on the trunk

• Vascular growths and lesions

• Subcutaneous tender nodules just under the skin that come and go

robby vieira, when you say leg pain, do you mean all over the leg? Because it seems like when my legs hurt, they hurt from the hips all the way down to the ankle. This past weekend I had some severe leg pain where it felt like my entire right lower half (and then left the next day) was being drilled into. Weird but awful pain.

I had intense leg pains, and decided that it had to be nerve pains - from the nerves that run along the bones. It was incredibly intense though, let me tell you!! It got to the point where I couldn't stand for more than 7 minutes without collapsing from the pain it would generate - and there was no sitting down and allowing my legs to just "hang" over the edge of the seat either.

I attributed this to the combination of Neuro Lyme and Bart.

Hello Everyone!

I'm new to this forum and I'm excited to get some great info and support!
I have no idea if I have acute or chronic but my guy says chronic since I have been having many symptoms since 2 years ago. My doctor says that it's recent but how does he really know? Some are new and I don't have them all the time but some I do! I have only had a blood test a month ago IFA Titre (IgG) and since doing research I guess the best test is Igenex. Does anyone know how much the whole test is?
Not sure if I should also do the one that does European strains since I have travelled to Europe in the past couple of years.
My Doctor prescribed me 5 different antibiotics to take and I'm freaking out since I have a horrible digestive system and I would rather take a couple and then support it with a herbal remedy that is very effective. I'm scared of the herx reactions and was wondering what the best natural supplements or herbal tinctures work best to help with the reactions.
I know to take a high probiotic if going on the antibiotics. The antibiotics he prescribed are: Amoxicillin, Hydroxychloroquine Sulfate, Azithromycin, Sulfamethoxazole/Trimethoprim and Nystatin for any candida formation. I know I probably have ramped candida anyway!!

Welcome to our community, LunaStar!

If you've had symptoms for 2 years, then it's chronic.

Igenex testing - the cost is based on which tests you get. Igenex is the best testing facility for lyme - but the testing is still not reliable/accurate, unfortunately.
There are many tests to choose from - lyme, bartonella, babesia, etc.

Most of us get the Lyme WB IgM and IgG - it costs $210 total for both.
That is the 'best bang for your buck'.

You can also get co-infection testing, but it is even less reliable/accurate than the lyme testing.
Some of us do test for bartonella and babesia...but many don't.
Often the confections are diagnosed clinically - based on our symptoms, response (or not) to certain antibiotics.

Do you have a LLMD to treat you? (Lyme Literate Dr.) - If not, we can help you find one.
By the amount of abx your Dr. prescribed...I'm wondering if he is Lyme Literate?
Although - saying your infection is recent...doesn't make sense since you've had symptoms for 2 years.

So, the results of the IFA blood test were positive?

Also - please do not start all those antibiotics at once.

Start with one - maybe the Amoxicillin.

If you take all those at once you could cause a severe herx. When the bacteria dies off, endotoxins are created which cause inflammation in the body...resulting in a herxheimer reaction.
You will have an increase in the severity of your existing symptoms, and even some new ones may show up.

So, start with one antibiotic...for at least a week or two...before adding in the second one.

I haven't heard of Sulfamethoxazole/Trimethoprim - is that for something else - other than treating lyme?

Sorry I didn't even mention what they found. I'm not sure if it said positive but it said Reactive vs Non-Reactive. It showed that Bartonella, Rikettssia and Maurine Typhus were reactive. I also did a DNA test a year prior and it showed that I had Mycoplasma SPP not sure what type exactly. I've struggled with Staph aureus in my nose which I went on antibiotics for and I can still feel that it's there.

I also know that I don't detoxify well so the doctor did a genetic testing to see if I have some mutations in my detox pathways but I haven't received the results yet. I don't have an appointment until the end of October. He's super busy and never has openings.

No I don't think he is an LLMD. He's an "Internal" Medicine Doctor which I'm assuming is for tougher cases that a regular MD can't figure out. He was the person who ever considered it would be Lyme, so I have to give him that!
I live in Toronto, Canada and I have found one LLMD in Richmond Hill which is just a little outside Toronto but she seems to be too booked because it says that she is not accepting any new patients until January and you have to have some kind of proof or diagnostics that you have it.

okay - so you have Lyme, Bartonella, Rikettssia and Maurine Typhus. (I've not heard of the maurine typhus)

You really don't need anymore testing - you've got positive tests already.

Wow - I'm surprised the Internal medicine Dr. did all that testing...that is great.

I'm in Canada, too. BC though.

i'm am aware of a "Lyme Friendly" MD in Toronto. Initials T.C. Is that who you're referring to?
Or did you mean a LLND in Richmond Hill: initials: A.L.

We have LLND's here in B.C. who treat Lyme and are licensed to prescribe antibiotics - if one chooses that route.

There are LLND's in Ontario...

So, here are some options:
1) Make an appt. with the LLMD and treat herbally on your own until then. When January comes, continue to treat herbally, or see the LLMD and get on abx.

2) Go across the border to a U.S. LLMD

3) See a LLND in Toronto and treat herbally.

4) Fly to BC and see a LLND here. After the initial consult continue with phone appointments.

You do have proof - you're 'reactive' on all those infections you listed.

Hi Girlie.

Yes, that is the doc I'm seeing for right now but I feel that I need an LLMD and or LLND. I don't want to go on all those antibiotics when this doc may not even know exactly what to give me. T.C will be upset I'm sure when I see this doc at the end of October again. I just have lots of questions. Do you recommend T.C? Have you heard good things? I can't find any LLND's in Toronto. Yes, that's the one in Richmond Hill but the wait like I said is super long and I want to start doing something now with herbs. There was an ND that was recommended in Ottawa M.M that I was thinking of seeing for right now. Have you heard of this ND? Any recos on a LLMD in the states that's not too far?
Are there any herbal treatments that you can recommend for now? I'm just so lost.
