Tiny red dots ?

I recently started to notice tiny red dots all over my skin. They are look like broken blood vessels. They started to pop up a few weeks ago and have dramatically increased since I started taking Mepron. Does anyone have any idea if these are lyme/co-infection related? They don't hurt , I just want them to clear up at some point.

I get these sometimes as well. Though, there's never many - four or five, at most.

I've never concluded what they are from for sure, as I've been told both Babesia and Bartonella. I suppose it could be one of those overlapping symptoms.

Mine look pretty close to the ones in the picture, only usually a bit smaller and not quite as bright red.

Pretty sure Mepron is used to treat Babesia though, so.. might be a connection there.

Interesting that he left out Babesia, which is a well known, well documented cause of petechiae.

I just looked in Buhner's Babesia book and it says that petechiae are a symptom of Babesia. Page 47.

I have them all over my body as well. I have been told babesia and bartonella. I am currently treating bartonella, and hopefully going to make some progress with this and hope that these go away. Although, currently, I feel awful. I love these diseases.

Bartonella usually produces long marks, similar to stretch marks - as in those women get during pregnancy. They can be red, white, silvery, or even have some blue color to them.

Yea they told me at the time it was from a stressful pregnancy i have been getting them since, periodically i will find one.

Now.. see, that is another thing that I have gotten mixed responses on, the stretch marks.

Everyone says they're due to Bartonella, for sure, but when I mentioned them in a post before.. some people were trying to tell me that they have to be red, pink, etc.

I have a lot of the white/silvery ones, and have had many other Bart symptoms over the course of the past few years. Some of the marks are no doubt from my youth, when I was a super chubby, and just growing in general, but I have a lot that I do not feel are normal. Arms, thighs, just too many.

Thanks for all the info . I like to know what is going on in my body and like to have explanations for all the weird stuff that has been happening to me . It doesn't happen often that I get real answers so I really appreciate all the feed back!

OK folks not everything is lyme disease....
So those red dots are a defense of your body. They are better than a melanoma.
Those are cherry angiomas they are hereditary and come with age too and in some people with sun exposure. I begun getting them when I started using tanning booth. They are a benign tumor, a defense of your skin against the outside. My dad a lots of them and I got just as many as he did.
They can be removed with light probe....expensive in the USA where they charge you about $50 for angioma and $25 to $50 for additional ones depending on how protruding they are from surface.

FYI >>>In the US they are not covered by insurance I have tried several times to get them removed, but cannot ever talk the dermatologist into it.
In Europe the health care insurance usually covers them even if they are considered cosmetic (patient pay some, insurance pays some other). In any case there is a HUGE gap between the cost of removal between the two countries. It would cost me $500 to get them remove here, about 10 of them and under $100 to get them remove in Europe for twice the number. Obscene indeed.

Well that could be different but more a reaction of your body...your cherry angiomas are the defense reaction to your messed up immune system in that sense. Same as it is with me ....body is (was) saying...nuff with tanning booth!!! LOL

But there other things besides cherry angiomas that look like tiny red dots on the skin. Quite a few rashes look like that, and to ignore it could easily lead a person into serious danger.

I don't believe that many people here honestly believe every single thing that happens to them is due to Lyme and co, but we ARE wise to ask questions and to look into it to be sure it really is nothing to be concerned about. That's why we encourage questions.

I have Babesia and bartonella, and have two different types of red dots that appeared after I got bit by the tick 4 years ago. I have the bright red, slightly raised dots, especially on the torso that look like the photo Treveler posted.

The other dots I have are in a rash form spreading over 3-4" x 2" area on my inner arm, right below the tick bite. The dots are very tiny, pretty close together and more a brownish red color. Like little clusters of tinny dots in that area. Not spiderweb like, just tiny, pinpoint dots. I think I read that this one is from Bartonella.
