The lymph nodes are like a first filter for the blood, so they can get "congested" with DNA fragments and other things, especially when we are sick as there are a higher number of things the need to be filtered out of the blood.
The best thing to do is gentle lymph massages, but do be careful, as they have been known to cause a herx, since you are releasing the "bacterial debris" back into the blood so it can go onto be further processed and removed from the body.
Here is a video of how to do a lymph massage, only I believe she says to massages 50 times or some high number - you don't want to do that, at least not at first. Only do it a few times, so that you don't make your lymph nodes sore, and so you don't push so many toxins back into your bloodstream to make you herx. 3 or 4 times at first is generally a good place to start.
