Been such a long, hard road these past 5 years. Today I went to followup with llmd to go over igenex labs. I'm positive for lyme both by cdc standards and igenex. I don't know when I got it. My dr. said I could even have gotten it when I was young -I am 37, and my body may have healed, then when I moved into the place I live now the environment could have exacerbated the symptoms I began to experience. She mentioned mold and I have had several a/c pipe leaks in my kitchen. Then I had a surgery in 2011 and I told her that after the surgery my symptoms became even worse and that's when I lost my job because I just couldn't make it anymore and everything just went downhill. I was so lost at that point because I thought it was the surgery that messed me up. For years I suffered not having a clue what was going on with me I went to dr. after dr., behavorial hospitals, specialist after specialist and nothing. Finally I looked at my labwork from the rheumatologist I had seen and there was a flag under the IGM band 23. Rheum never mentioned it to me. I noticed it myself, and because I noticed it I looked into the llmd. OTHERWISE I NEVER WOULD HAVE SUSPECTED LYME.
Today my llmd started me on doxy, Ceftin, Plaquenil, and mycostatin along with some supplements. I am afraid of the herxheimer but at least I know about
it ...my llmd said alkaselzor gold is good for herx, did anyone try this? she offered it to me but I didn't take it because the other supplements cost me over $300.
she also ordered labwork to check for mold toxins in the body and did a swab test up my nose, it hurt so bad.
Anyway I just wanted to check in and say I finally am diagnosed with something after having a mysterious illness for five years...I'll keep you posted. Any advice?
