Reoccurring mono?

Had anyone had reoccurring mono with lyme? Is that a thing? I'm new to all this and was told I possibly had it last winter (all winter) and now I'm getting tested again with the exact same symptoms except this tune with extreme jaw and sinus pain.

Are you talking about Epstein Barr virus (EBV)? This is often deactivated with Lyme and or co-infections. The symptoms of EBV can ebb and flow. Have you had an EBV test?

Yes many people have to deal with this more than once. Keeping stress down and getting the immune system up to keep this under control is key. It reactivates when the immune system is compromised and low.

As Krimpet said, many have to deal with this. EBV - the virus that causes Mono - never goes away, the body has to keep it under control (dormant). So any time the immune function falls below a certain level, there are several viruses that most people carry that can become reactivated and produce symptoms once again.

There are antivirals that your doctor can give you, or I choose to use Lysine, as there are very few side effects with it. I've been using it for the last 6 years to keep several viruses under control.
