I'll answer for her if she's going to be gone long...GI is gastro intestinal. A binder is a substance that soaks up all the stuff and moves it out of your body. Stuff includes dead bacteria, microbes, as well as anything else including medications taken within the surrounding (before and after taking binder) 2 hours. A binder could be charcoal tabs, diatomaceous earth, that sort of thing. You need to make a clear 4 hour window around the binder for taking anything that you don't want swept out. That's why many take it before bed time if they aren't taking anything else then.
ETA: A binder is also useful if you're having a bad reaction/herx to something you took orally, as it will get it moving along and out of your system faster.Agree on all accounts - thanks julymorning!
