I agree w/ PeteZa -
Your period is a natural detoxing process and it's common for those of us in treatment who have so many other challenges going on, for the menstrual process to become strained. Your body can handle only so much. As she said, stay hydrated and I would increase detoxing in a manageable way, if you can.
I have found that binder support helps - I've read that there are a lot of hormones flowing during your period, and that they trigger other bodily functions, due to the proximity of your uterus and, say, your GI track. This is likely why I always have GI trouble on my period. Once I started taking a strong binder, which helps flush the toxins through the GI more swiftly and effectively, and also helps keep me more regular, a lot of my GI problems and other PMS problems (caused by the gut-brain connection) are much better.
