Hi My wife has heat coming out of the top of her head. She is 55 and post menopausal for many years. Is this probably hormonal?

Hi Mack, welcome to our community!
Are you wondering if your wife has Lyme disease? If so, does she have any other symptoms?

Hi Mack, Welcome to the forum. I know that I had that issue a lot when I went through menopause. It could be hormonal.

Hi Mack!
Welcome to our community. I'm glad you're here.
I had the same question as Girlie, does your wife have or do you suspect she has Lyme or other tick borne infections?
I would definitely suggest that her hormone levels be checked as well.

Howdy Mack. What a sweet husband to do research.
Menopause can cause a myriad of symptoms and being hot is one of them. It would be literally freezing outside and I would be in shorts.
For years I was the woman that said, "Please roll up your window" as we drove down the street. Menopause and I was turning on the air conditioner the minute I got in the car.
I always hogged the covers at night. Menopause and those covers were like a revolving door - off and then on, off and then on.
Having menopause is likened to having a broken thermostat in your car. But it isn't a part that you can replace. Just time and patience and everything will level out and the sage woman will be there.

My estrogen and progesterone levels are at the bottom of the barrel due to having a hysterectomy and currently not on hormone replacement therapy. It is hard for me to distinguish what are hormone issues and what is due to Lyme. I go from sweating to freezing in a matter of seconds.
I know my response doesn't help, but menopause and Lyme symptoms can overlap a lot. ☹️️ After trying all kinds and doses of hormone therapy with no success, my doctor started looking for something systemic and it was Lyme.

Sissy - my estro and progesterone tanked when I got lyme...but at the time I didn't have the lyme diagnosis...
I went on the bioidentical hormone therapy....and raised my levels (in a short time)...but it didn't help...in fact a couple weeks on the therapy...I got new symptoms.
I am going to try the progesterone cream...(but not estrogen)...and see if it will help me now.
