Flu Shot?

Wondering if anyone with lyme has experienced any unusual effects from the flu shot?

I can see it not being advisable....

I try not to push my views on others - but in the last year I have become strongly opposed to vax. The more I research the madder i get. Just read this today.

I asked my dr about this very topic a few weeks ago.

Backstory... I am a type 1 diabetic and was always told by my drs that I must have a flu shot. Scare tactics...telling me I will die if I get the flu.

My llmd's opinion was to never get another vaccine again. His opinion is what randy stated...our bodies are at war right now and always will be even when we feel better.

He also commented that the flu shot is only a guess as to what will be the flu of the season. No guarantee that this is the virus that one would even be exposed to. So a lymie could be taking a vaccine that likely won't protect them anyway.

In my llmd's opinion, The only exception to the vaccine getting is if you are exposed to rabies or if you get a cut that would require tetanus. However, tetanus is mixed with diptheria so to ask for just tetanus without diptheria. Not such an easy thing to do, it rarely is supplied that way.

The other exception to the flu vaccine is for patients with compromised respiratory systems, such as emphysema or severe asthma.

Way back in 2008 I was in nursing school and working at a hospital when I got lyme. Of course I had no idea what was wrong with me and was not in treatment for lyme. It was mandatory that I get a plethora of vaccines as a school/hospital requirement. My body exploded with symptoms after that and it pushed me over the edge of health. I needed to leave school and my job and have never been well enough to return to either.

I will never vaccinate again.

I got one about 18 or so years ago and was so angry at my g.p. for trying to kill me. He could not understand why I got so sick and blamed the shot.

I've refused them ever since. I didn't know at the time I had Lyme, etc., I was told otherwise, and that I had Fibromyalgia.

At any rate, never again.
I did have a pneumonia shot some years ago, because with my severe copd pneumonia would kill me. I thought I had a pneumonia shot last year but they can't find it in my records. I probably will get that. Maybe.

I may regret it, IDK.

I might be better off seeing what I can do to build up my immune system more.
