Has it been lymes all along?

Yeah, that was my understanding of the IND on the IGG as well. Because there is some potential cross-over, 31 plus 41 is considered IND. Any other combo is considered positive on igenex.

As for the candida, I am well aware of the challenges of that :) Actually, that is probably the main thing I have been trying to fight these past 5 years. Everything started after I took Flagyl for BV. The yeast was constant (and I assumed was from the Flagyl), while the "MS like" symptoms were very intermittant. Prior to the flagyl, I never had a yeast infection or any weird symptoms. I started having chronic yeast infections at the same time as my "MS like" symptoms developed.

I have gone over a year with no symptoms, and only have these symptoms a very tiny fraction of the time (can be as little as a 1-2 weeks a year). I have had multiple MRIs and even an LP-- no MS.

I went on an anti-candida diet for 3 years, and have been on some hefty antifungals, take top notch probiotics, eat lots of yogurt/kefir, etc. However, despite killing myself to kill the yeast, I am still dealing with it -- even when I was eating nothing but veggies and chicken.

It felt as if something was preventing me from getting better. It is interesting you say this: The reason why it's mentioned so often with Lyme, in part because of the abx situation, but also because when your body is overwhelmed with yeast, it cannot deal with subduing the Lyme bacteria (or anything else).

I wonder if the reverse could also be true. Because of all the "bad" bacteria (ie lymes), perhaps it cannot fully heal of the yeast?

I am praying that correcting the lyme, in the long run, would help with my other issue. I'm currently on abx and have prevented yeast flare ups by taking tons of probiotics, kefir, and taking RX antifungals. However, doing this prior to abx didn't "fix" it -- I just hope dealing with the bacteria will allow my body to beat back the yeast.

Yeah, I kind of wonder if the reason I have such infrequent "flares" is because my diet is so super healthy. When I first started having these neuro/fatigue symptoms, they lasted months. Then, when I went on the diet, they became less frequent and usually only came out when I really pushed myself (i.e.: exhausted myself from a long weekend, day out, etc) -- and randomly, only when it was cold out. I always felt great in the summer. I swear I am allergic to cold weather, lol.

My timeline is interesting because I had the random WB IGM + test (with IGG indeterminate) in 2008, when I lived in NYC. It was done completely by accident, by a gyno. She never even called to tell me the result-- I only found out bc I requested the script, and was shocked/alarmed to see that. I had no symptoms at the time. I convinced myself it must be wrong, and moved on with life.

All of the yeast and neuro/fatigue symptoms started in 2012 after I took the Flagyl. In retrospect, I wonder if the flagyl stirred up or activated the lyme, and then i started having symptoms (like the flagyl aggregated or "woke it up"...IDK). I really didn't think of lyme again until my doc ordered a lyme test a few months ago and band 23 on the IGM came back positive, and it reminded me of 2008 when bands 23 & 39 were positive on the IGM, which gave me the WG IGM + (which i assumed was a false positive). I hit the internet and learned that is a very specific band, even though my doctor said absolutely NO to lymes -- I needed 5 bands. He said he wished I had it, because "its easy to treat."

Now the new results from IGENEX are for 31 & 41 IGG only. I really just wanted to be positive so I can feel better about the fact I'm on ABX which is awful for my candida issues. Very confusing stuff.

I am not sure about mold...I don't think I have but I think it's a great idea. is that an allergy test kind of thing?

Oh, as for other stuff- while I was on the candida diet from 2013-2016, my naturopath had me on some natural antibacterials -- coconut oil, garlic, a supplement called biocidin which is a mix of antimicrobials, etc)

That's a good point Traveler. Well you make me feel better that I'm going down the correct path. I actually only have 1 week of abx left, and then I see my LLMD to see what we should do next.

Mainly I just don't want to be taking antibiotics if im wrong on this, because I've been wrong before!

Just as an FYI, although we basically already knew i probably have lymes, I just found out that my 31 epitope test was positive which now makes my IGENEX igg positive overall now (from IND- I had bands 31&41 only). I'm glad to finally have confirmation for my problems, and really appreciate everyone's guidance and help. I feel like I'm in good hands with my LLMD so thank you all so much, and Happy new year!
