I've decided to start eliminating toxins from my makeup. I've been slowly tackling each area of my life during this whole debacle! Anybody know of some toxin-free makeup? Preferably better quality? I was looking at Younique products and they seem nice.

It's sad because I'm a bit of a makeup fanatic, I love it! The only good thing coming from this Lyme is how much money I'm saving from only doing my makeup 2-3 times a week!

There are some make up on iHerb that are supposed to be non toxic, you can read testimonials from others and get some idea what they think of it. I haven't tried anything for a while because of allergies but that might help.

I switched to Jane Iredale - the foundation I use is rated a "2" with 10 being the worst. I would suggest going to ewg.org and looking at their skin database. I look up everything I buy now. It took awhile, but I've converted everything I use to safer options.

K07 - but how do you buy make-up online - without seeing the true color?

Does anyone know any health food store brands that are non-toxic?

We just got a Whole Foods Market in the larger city that we travel to frequently.
I wonder if they have a cosmetic section...

I use DWC Mineral Makeup. I love it. No talc, perfumes or dyes.

My girlfriend is so gluten intolerant that she has to buy gluten free makeup.

For my eyes (liner and mascara) I use whatever is on sale and the most natural I can find.

I don't need eyebrow work.

I have another girlfriend and an aunt that both have had their liner tattooed on the lids and they look awesome first thing in the morning. I am a chicken. LOL

Gluten is one I have to watch out for too, gives me eczema :(

I'm a makeup junkie too. My favorite brands are Too Faced, Urban Decay, Kat Von D, Tarte, Dr Jart, Benefit, Mary Kay, and so on. Some of those brands are better than others. But for me, the worse I feel on the inside, the better I try to look on the outside. So makeup is one of my ways of coping with chronic illness over the years. I'm interested to see what other people use/recommend. I've tried 'health food' brands before and they just wouldn't cut it for long lasting wear, ect.

ChickNorris, you must shop at Sephora. Lol it's so addicting, especially because you get free stuff every time with your points. How will I drag myself away from this? haha

Love Sephora, my favorite store! I can't give you any advice on how to stop! Lol! But they have so many brands, I know that some are less toxic than others!

My sister (in complete remission after 3 yers of treatment( uses Jane Iredale and swears by it. They have a store here in Northern Va. so probably have others as well. Good luck!
