I pulled a tick off me that was on me for 2 days. I started taking Doxy as soon as I pulled it off. The last 3 days I felt pretty normal but I started getting headaches last night and this morning I feel really bad. I have bad anxiety, constant fluttering sensation in my chest, and my knee pain seems to be coming back. I also just feel really run down and have no appetite.

I'm really worried. Could I have a co-infection? Does Doxy kill co-infections in an early bite? The Doxy I have is also 9 months old but the nurse told me that it's good for 1 year. Does anyone know if it can lose potency? Please if anyone has some advice, I was just beginning to feel better before this new bite.

I'm so sorry to hear this. That's pretty fast to feel symptoms but I guess it's possible. I'm thinking perhaps you had a co-infection that you didn't know about. I'm assuming you weren't taking astralagus once you finished your previous treatment. Wait I think you are still treating from the first bite.

Are you saying that you werent having symptoms until you started the doxy correct?

I was doing Bee venom therapy before i got rebitten and my only remaining systems were joint and tendon pain. I started talking the doxy right when I pulled the tick off. Now 3 days later all this wide stuff is happening. I'm hoping it will pass but I want to make sure Im doing everything possible to get it before it becomes a chronic infection.

Sean - I know that with a new infection caught early, doxy is prescribed at 200 mg twice daily.

But I don't know if it's 'enough' when you also have a chronic infection at the same time.

Hopefully it is, along with the BVT you're doing.

I doubt if the doxy has lost its potency.

Doxy can go bad ....was it kept at room temp?...i think you can look up the lot number ..was that date of mfg or date of pharm fill?...doxy wont get bart babs but the bvt might ...did you encircle the dragon ? Sting all around the bite ...? Did you stop the bvt ..are you on no sugar no gluten ..are you on nysratin or diflucan ?

Are you sure it's not just the side effect of Doxy? First time I started taking Doxy I felt like I was run over by a train - constant, excruciating headaches, nausea, stomach ache, loss of appetite, fatigue, flu-like symptoms. I don't really have a big experience, but I know Doxy is pretty aggresive and can make you feel like you have a massive infection going on. Have you consulted this with your doctor?

I was wondering if it could be the doxy too. Maybe a little herx since you weren't fully healed from the first time? Hopefully it will calm down after a week or so. Make sure you detox. Doxy is used because it is supposed to take care of most co's in acute phase.
