When/how to take diflucan...and interaction with Azithromycin

So, I am to take Diflucan 150 mg once daily for two weeks, and after that take it once a week. (open-ended)

My llnd has also prescribed bactrim (NOT DS) and Azithromycin to be taken for that two weeks.

I will be taking my LDI dose after the first week of antibiotics.


Then I am to stop antibiotics for 5 weeks.

I checked the meds in the drug interaction checker I use...and Azithromycin and Diflucan comes up "MODERATE" - risk for irregular heart rhythm.

I do not want to risk that. I don't want to acquire the Long QT syndrome.

my thoughts are I start the Diflucan ...and add in the bactrim after a few days...but wait to take the Azithromycin until i'm on the once weekly dosage of Diflucan.
I'm thinking that would reduce my chances of the interaction (compared to daily dosing of diflucan)


ALSO: Should diflucan be taken with food...or without...or it doesn't matter?

so I can take the Diflucan with my lunch.

It's a condition that can be inherited...or acquired (rarely) - can cause irregular heart beats...sometimes rapid heartbeats...and can trigger a fainting spell. (and rarely sudden death)

yes you are right, it is a sulfa drug.
the best would be to call your LLND and to check with her

Girlie, what did your doctor say about that positive test you had a few weeks ago? Did he/she say anything about the meeting with the Bart guru?

Actually, she didn't say much. She did say that he says to hit bart hard...and even suggested that he doubles the usual Rifampin dosage....not sure if that's true though.

She also said at the ILADS conference that she recently attended - there were several LLMD's who talked about more herbs..and not as much emphasis on abx for treatment. She said she hasn't heard that at the past conferences she's been to.

...and about my positive bartonella. I had emailed her when I first got the results.
She said she called the lab and asked the owner of the lab about my positive...regarding treatment - as I had already had 1 year of bart treatment. He told her it is active infection...and needs treatment.

But...I already knew that because it's pcr - so not antibodies...the dna of the bart bacteria was seen in my blood.

do appreciate you sharing the info on bart. BLO's are nasty, nasty, nasty if you even take your foot off their necks for one minute they spring right back up. i'm frankly amazed at how resilient they are. i'm going to be hitting them hard however long it takes with abx and herbs until i get them down for the count (well that's the plan at least!). i'm also more comfortable pulsing to let the immune system do some of the dirty work and during the off days i'm going to rife them as well as i found a pretty good protocol from Hulda Clark's arsenal that's definitely hitting them.
