How can I help my son? Bad night

Need advice. I think my son's lyme is mostly neuro. He's been acting weird all day.

LLMD said to stop Mepron so he hasn't taken that. He didn't take Zithro today because he feels so bad. Cough still bad and he said his head hurts, throat feels 'wet' but I don't know what that means.

Then about thirty minutes ago he started yelling at me (he has never done this in his life). about ten minutes ago he started screaming like he hurt himself and I ran to the kitchen and he was sobbing uncontrollably. Burnt himself on the toaster and that set him off. He said he feels bad inside his head and sad.

Is this what it is going to be like? What can I do? I don't think I am equipped to help him. I need advice.

What does the doc say about magnesium. The right kind is very calming and has a DIRECT effect on the brain and nervous system. But does not change it long term.

I cant remember how many anxiety posts there have been the last months. This is somewhat related.

Without messing with the brain amino levels, you can just use calming herbs, not adrenal herbs, but just calming herbs. They dont change chemicals persey, its just a short lived calming band aid.

Valerian, passion flower, chamomile others I'm sure. Valium is synthetic more powerful Valerian, thus the name.

Also do an hla test for mold. That often makes you feel "bad inside your head" i hear that a lot.

No, Valium is not more powerful valerian. Valium is a pharmaceutical (benzo) and Valerian is a plant.

Maybe you're thinking of Valproic acid - derived from Valerian.

Mepron depletes q10 ..makes the blues ...hugs...flower essences ...?

Jenny, thank you for your personal experience. I so appreciate that. I gave him tea that had passionflower, valerian. I'll look into the tincture. I didn't know elu helps with depression. I am not depressed but have had brain fog and I feel like it is gone and always think it is the elu that helped. Well I guess it is.

New york is banned from the neuroscience testing. I have to find somewhere that will do them and send them out. Love those tests. So expensive though. I don't think he can have mold but will put it on the 'to ask for' list.

Bluelyme, Will have him take Q10. I have a call in DD (man's name) to get his flower essensce treatment that have really helpled kids with lyme.

Daisies, I know you live this everyday. How do you keep them on the meds. last night was his 1 of 2 nights off. He is 5 days on/2 days off. This is the end of one full week at 1/3 dosing. Monday he is supposed to double up on Mepron/Zith and then add in mino in week three. He won't be able to function. He said he doesn't want to go to school because he feels he can cry any second. He does know it's the medicine so that's good.

We are entering a Super Moon cycle and the moon is the closest that it has been/will be in years. I wouldn't be inclined to start/increase anything during this time.

Huddie I hope your son will be fine. Try with some chamomile tea. He is in that delicate age, many teens yell at their parents, etc without being ill - because of hormonal changes and everything.
On the top of that bacteria do what they do...

THIS IS FROM ARTICLE: My son doesn't have neck pain nor sweats.
Air hunger, neck pain and sweats are always listed as the top three for Babesia.

I have found that only sweating and flu like symptoms which recur in a cycle can be reliably associated with Babesia infection.

The list comes from Burrascano's guidelines. I do not know what the basis is.

Perhaps Babesia can inflitrate into pulmonary tissues. Perhaps it causes a central-brain event which decreases the respiratory drive.

Perhaps it is none of the above.

Unfortunately there is no science or medical literature to support these beliefs.

Keep in mind that there are many causes for breathlessness. Lyme can cause pleurisy: there may be an asthmatic or wheezing disorder: there may be anxiety or cardiac issues. Babesia would/should be the last thing on the rule out list.

Now I don't know if this is correct information but I find it interesting because my son never tested positive for Babs and has very few symptoms for it - he does suffer from anxiety and I now wonder if the LLMD took his needing to take a deep breath now and then for Babs and maybe he shouldn't be on Mepron.

Huddie - Do you or your son feel better out of your home? If so, you may want to consider mold (per jennydancingfish and the "feel bad inside the head"). It's actually quite common for people to have issues with both lyme AND mold. Is there any correlation with your current environment and when symptoms started or progressed? I do recall mentioning this to you one other time when you said you were out of city and felt better.

Mold illness is often genetic so it could not bother your husband but make you as sick as a dog.

Babesia is usually responsible for symptoms of air hunger (feeling like you are unable to breathe, chest pressure, dry cough, sighing), while bartonella is usually responsible for anxiety, panic attacks, raging, emotional lability, inability to handle frustration.

If your son has been taking mepron the LLMD likely suspects babesia. His responses make me think he is experiencing a herx reaction.

If lyme or bartonella are his main symptoms, they could be completely masking babesia. K (now 15 yo) had absolutely no symptoms of babesia, but it was eventually found to be the reason why we could not completely clear her of bartonella.

Just because your son is asymptomatic for babesia doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't have it. Let his response to antimicrobials (either pharmaceutical or herbal) be your guide.
