Son's second Igenex lyme results back

Well, bands 31 and 39 are Lyme specific. He may not be having many symptoms at this point, but we know that 14 days of Doxy isn't long enough even in the earliest stages of treatment.

Going to ask my LLMD what his recommendation is on next steps. He's free of any symptoms that would appear to be tick related and my wife is not going to let me self treat. He had Mono when he was younger does that show up on any of these bands?

My son just turned 11. The only band that's definitely Lyme is 31 so he was exposed to it at some point in the past.

My wife won't let me treat him. My wife and I are both infected with at least Lyme (I have BLO and Babs as well who knows what else). We're seeing our own LLMD's which is putting us in the poor house and to add him as a 3rd patient with Lyme will have us eating cat food under a bridge!

I'd like to at least try to put him on an herb or maybe two for a while and see what happens. What would be the best one to try? I have some Cumanda and my wife is taking BB-1 which may do the trick. Thoughts?

Hi. I hear ya. My son and I are being treated and my husband was just tested. It's like our vacation budget for the year just went to the IgeneX and the LLMD but we aren't up for vacationing anyway. Isn't this fun?

I'm not equipped to help with herb suggestions. I have BB1 but haven't started yet. Perhaps start detoxing him and bringing up his immune system. Honestly, if he's been exposed to lyme I wouldn't not treat. My son has probably had lyme since he was seven. He is 14 and it's mostly neuro. Not trying to scare you but I wish we caught it right away. My son had two ticks in his ears at seven. I had him tested immediately and it was negative. I knew nothing about lyme at the time. He has no symptoms until about two years ago - and they came out slowly and varied so we went from doctor to doctor never thinking lyme.

I called our LLMD and said testing and treating three people is a kings ransom. LLMD gave discount to my son and let us do our appointments together. I would call your LLMD explain the situation and I bet he will see you son. Worth a try.

I don't know what would be worse; being accused of having syphillis, or having lyme and no internet? I'm going with the latter.

Glad you found a better doctor. Not surprised since so many don't know much about lyme NOW.

I'm sorry you went through all that. So because you were only given ten days of abx. you then relapsed later or have just been unwell until current day? Sorry!

I think the possibility of sexual transmission is there but I still think getting bit is the most common way to get this.

Ups and downs, never felt 'normal' if you know what I mean. The first few years I was really a mess. So much weird stuff and pain. Running to the dr. like 3 times a week. Never a week go by without a trip to the e.r. so many different stupid anti inflamatories he tried on me the first year that did no good. Then a diagnosis at one of the State's university hospitals of Fibro. I carried that label for many, many years. no kind of useful treatments. I must have had one heck of a immune system, to have had the good high points that I did.

I don't think I got the RMSF until 7 years later.

Periodic abx for other issues might have kept the yo yo going up and down. IDK. The first surgery for gall bladder was the beginning to the end. Thankfully darvocet kept me in good shape for 4 hours a day, then my shoulder/arm surgery 2 1/2 years ago was the final blow, I have not recovered back to where I was prior to the last surgery. I had 2 hours good a day with the pain med, but that dwindled to nothing last year.
The herbals are doing a much better job than the abx did last year, which was mono treatment, unfortunately.

I think I am 50% better than I was at my worst, but going through next summer's heat without real problems will be the acid test.

I think I might get more functional, less pain, but it's too late for a 65 year old to be back where she was when she was 33 or 34.

I have used BB-1 and then graduated up to BB-2. I love them!! I think they were so helpful in getting me well. I also did Tox Ease GL through my entire treatment.

I actually started on the Beyond Balance tinctures and then decided that they were so good I would add in Buhner's protocol.

My healing was Beyond Balance and Buhner combined.

Now my husband has lyme and I have him on Beyond Balance and he is starting Buhner's protocol.

If I had a child with lyme, Beyond Balance would be my first choice. And definitely a detoxing routine.

Why can't you use Milk Thistle? I herxed on milk thistle tincture and I think I may have herxed on the Tox-Ease tincture. Probably shouldn't have started Tox-Ease and the homeopathics at the same time.

Rikky, please let us know what you decide to do. If my son didn't have symptoms and wasn't caught so late I would try herbs and detox first.

I am very allergic to ragweed and get sinus problems from it. But, I was on Tox Ease and Tox Ease GL for over 7 months and had no reaction.

Huddie, I do not recommend EVER taking more than one thing at a time - even homeopathics. And, if you do Beyond Balance, it really needs to be low and slow. Baby steps to healthy.
