Maybe a pattern?

So - there may be a pattern with some of my symptoms.

I have had joint pain...both knees (left one more so) were a little bit sore when bending them. This has been almost from the start of my symptoms.
about a month or two after starting Rifampin for bart (last year) - my left knee flared...I could not move it...it was extremely sore.

It slowly got better - and after several weeks...it was completely better - better than pre-flare.
...and no issues since.

I've also had pain in the front of my right shoulder. Not really bad...but enough to bother me. Worse at night if I sleep on it.

A few weeks ago I woke up and it was excruciating...I couldn't move it....went to the Dr. it was so bad. She thought it was an impingement...gave me a topical anti-inflammatory prescription. I used it once.
Several days later - it was much better - and has continued to get better...and now there is NO pain in that shoulder...

So, in both cases - some fairly mild symptoms flared...and then got better...and now at this point (knock on wood) are completely resolved.

Today and yesterday, my left arm (where I have had issues from day 1) - is sore and hot to touch. It hasn't been hot like this for a very long time - it was bad enough that a few hours ago...I got worried - maybe my bartonella is getting worse...since I stopped Rifampin and am doing bactrim now.
Also, my left shoulder blade area is flaring.

Hoping bactrim is doing something - maybe I will have the same results? one can hope. :)


I haven't even been able to get to full dose yet....

Girlie have you done the LDI yet?

No, Krimpet - I am holding off...I've decided since I started on an antibiotic I've never done before...I may as well see how I do on it...before I take the LDI.


I pretty much second guess e.v.e.r.y. t.h.i.n.g. I do when it comes to lyme and co's treatment.

Good luck girlie ..a little birdie did tell me that if one has a rickettsia infection sulfa drugs can exacerbate it ...listen to your self not everything is a herx

Isn't rickettsia infection treatment the same as lyme treatment? If so, I'd hope I'd kicked it to the curb now.

Does the exacerbation of symptoms resolve? or are you talking permanent?

I remember you said something about bactrim making your blood boil....did that go away?

I don't know how I would know if it's a reaction to the bactrim...vs. herx.

This is great news. Sounds like some of your symptoms are going away for good.

You are really good about be on top of things. Your posts make me wonder if I shouldn't just deal with the abx.

I wish you more and more relief and 100% healing!

It's not an easy decision...believe me when I say...sometimes I wonder if I should just do herbs...

Yes some symptoms are gone for good (I hope).I have way less symptoms before...but still have some persistent ones...
