Another great success story with a face.
I had seen this guys vid a few months back. He is one of the only personal stories that comes up on youtube for lyme healing stories that isn't a life coach or naturopath trying to hock something. This guy strikes me as a little kooky but I guess this disease tends to do that to us all after a while. I do like his attitude though and how emphatic he is that he is so much better.
There is so much ambiguity and uncertainty with this disease so it's nice to see someone who is so direct in his approach"We know what works." Even if he is wrong I can appreciate his sense of certainty as this is so lacking in the world of lyme treatment.
44 months is an incredibly long time to treat. This guy had a lot of patience and persistence to have faith in his approach and stay the course for so long. He says for him it was definitely worth going through 4 years of hell to get his life back.
He also brings up some good questions like what is a cure? "if you are 90% are you cured?"
He really sums up the experience of this disease quite well by talking about how it robs people of their very humanity. I can relate to that entirely. He is very reflective about his overall experience and very straightforward. He doesn't get bogged down in all the overly complex secondary issues. Another good example of someone who focused directly on lyme and didn't quit until he was better. He was tenacious and stubborn in his approach "as long as it takes". He also attributes some of his success to simple luck. "I consider myself to be the luckiest person in the world"
his protocol was...
"400 mgs biaxin 200mgs plaquinil and 400 mgs of doxy daily for 44 months until the symptoms finally subsided"
he also took lyrica, clonazepam and Prozac.
He also mentions the role of vitamins supplements and natural herbs but doesn't specify which ones.
I think it's important for us to closely analyze every single success story we can find and try to see what has ACTUALLY WORKED for some people. I really believe that this is the best use of message boards like this one. To compare contrast and learn as much as we can about the details of these protocols so we can fine tune them for ourselves and eachother, while leaving a reference for others to follow in the future. We have our doctors but at the end of the day we are on our own in fighting this and the only way we can learn and achieve some progress is through the successful experiences of others. Instead of constantly wondering why a protocol didn't work, we should spend our time asking why a protocol DID work. This is what a healing community should be all about. Spreading success. Just like sickness, success over illness can become contagious.
"Just to be normal is heaven"
I cant wait to get there myself.
