I have a question about timing and symptoms. When this first started 8 years ago when I was diagnosed with lyme and undertreated with 10 days of doxy one of my main symptoms was drenching night sweats. I have yet to test positive for any coinfections and cannot afford Igenix so I am trying to figure this out in my own.

Is the drenching sweats (I had flu-like stuff too) indicative of the onset of Lyme? Or is it Babesia or something else entirely. Is there anyway to tell?

I should mention the night sweats went away after the initial course of abx so I assume it was lyme but like everything else with TBIs I am thoroughly confused.

Even though sweats are a hallmark Babesia symptom, I get them, and we're not even sure if I have Babesia, My LLND said they could also be Bartonella.

I've seen that symptom on Lyme symptom lists, too.

Do you have any other symptoms that can be attributed to Babesia?
Air hunger, chills?

If they went away with Lyme treatment and haven't returned, it sounds like they were Lyme .

I kind of figured but I do have shortness of breath, really bad fatigue and chills

I guess my question is more at the initial onset of the infection and perhaps my immune system was strong enough then to subdue the initial attack.

The misdiagnosis for seven years has muddied a lot of my recollections of various symptoms during flares over the course of that time

I also have had long term drenching sweats, in particular at night, but at other times when my internal thermostat isn't working properly. If I went by what regular doctors have said, I am only definitely pos. for RMSF.

It's my observation of most of the posts I've seen on here over the past year is drenching sweats have been experienced by those infected with Lyme but they are, as Girlie said, a symptom of all three B's, and RMSF.

If you notice, there are 3 clear infection types that mention night or drenching sweats, not including Lyme, which mentions temperature dis-regulation.

I've been over all the symptoms charts many many times and find it more confusing for the fact there is so much overlap. What were the three that stood out julymorning?
