Band 41 Indeterminate, Band 58 positive = LYME?

I’m not a sure if this thread is still active, but I wanted to share: I have the same exact WB results - Indeterminate 31, ++ 41, and + 58 on IgM, and +41 on IgG through iGenex. I also started with the same symptoms! I was experiencing severe abdominal pain, lost a bunch of weight, and had a lot of intestinal/digestive issues. I had clear colonoscopies and endoscopies, though, and so Crohn’s and colitis were ruled out. It led my doctors to removing my gallbladder. After gallbladder surgery, I developed severe neurological symptoms. My digestive issues landed me in the ER one year ago, I had my gallbladder out 10 months ago, and now I have tremors, seizures, full body neuropathy, migraines, you name it. I saw a doctor recently who suggested that the digestive issues I was having were actually neurological in nature - my intestinal motility was limited by neurological dysfunction, and the nerves in my intestines hyperactive due to infection.

It’s interesting that you say you’ve read that 58 tends to be found in European strains, as I was living in Europe when I was bitten, and was hospitalized only two months later. As I understand it, Borrelia Garninii tends to go straight for the nervous system, and can cause the neuro-digestive symptoms often seen in European Lyme. Garninii is also sometimes found in the Northwest US, as so understand it. Where are you from/where were you bitten?

I’m wondering how you’re doing now, a year after the last post. As you were posting here, I was laying in a hospital with my first week of these symptoms. I would be glad to hear how you’ve faired with diagnosis and treatment.

Thank you for be quick response! That’s unfortunate - I was hoping for some feedback. I have an LLMD, but as usual am still wary of the Lyme diagnosis, so I’m trying to rule other things out. I thought it was amazing that this person had the same results and symptoms as I do, so i was hoping for an update from them.

I have noticed a couple interesting patterns that I am going to look at further:

1. People that have similar band patterns seem to have similar symptom profiles. I have only been lurking this site for 4-5 months, but it does really look like the case. Not always exactly the same symptoms, but similar at various milestones from initial infection. i.e. estimated 6 months, 12 months, 2 years, 5 years etc.

2. People who live in certain geographic areas seem to have similar band patterns. Not sure if this would hold water after gathering more data, but the small sample size I have seen seems to hold true.

I am sure the CDC and the Lyme cabal have mountains of this data that is not being released to the public or doctors, but this is something we need to be looking at in the Lyme community.

I have read about a Lyme mapping project that is being done from within the community to combat the assumption that Lyme is only in the Northeast. This is good, but we NEED databases that are tracking serology band patterns too.

@multifacetedme How does one go about to rule out a particular band such as 41 or 58, what other type of testing if not certain if it's Lyme or other issue? I had 41 Indeterminate IgM, no IgG's (on this last test but had 18 IgG & 39 IgM on other test) and had a slew of non specific bands including 93. Not sure where to go from here.

Band 41 is the flagella of a spirochete. While it's not lyme specific...there are a few other 'things' that could cause it:
ie - dental spirochetes, Relapsing Fever (and a few more - can't remember...)

Bands 39 and 93 are lyme specific.
