Herbalist in the NYC area?

Wife has been seeing a naturopath in NYC for a few months and she's not very happy. She's got lyme, mycoplasma and adrenal fatigue (cortisol low throughout day confirmed via spit tests). Her naturopath is new to the practice and new to treating those with lyme/co-infections so she's not all that familiar with tick borne illnesses. She's been taking multiple abx for 6 months and not getting anywhere. She really really doesn't like abx and would prefer a different route like using herbs. She thinks her biggest problem is adrenal fatigue and she's being very strict in terms of healing them but not making much progress.

Anyone have any recommendations with good patient referrals on someone that she could work with? Ok over the phone if they're solidly recommended you don't want to pick such people out in some catalog if you ask me. Thanks.

I don't know any good naturopath in NYC. Wish I did!

I do see a holistic internist in Manhattan who helps me with adrenal fatigue. It's no quick fix that's for sure. She is also expensive and does not take health insurance. You have to pay out of pocket, and the testing, etc...

I see a wonderful acupuncturist who helps with everything. She has many clients with lyme. She uses several healing modalities in her practice and is just amazing.

Thanks Huddie doesn't have to be in NYC could be in the tri-state area and she'll do phone as well. Seems that's what you need to do to find these folks.

Agreed! I'll be watching this.

I studied under one of the best Naturopathic doctors many years ago. She is in Santa Fe.

I haven't spoken to her in years. I am going to reach out and see how much she knows about Lyme.

I have called EVERY herbalist on that list. They either NEVER call back or they don't have openings for months.

One guy finally returned my call two months after I called him. He gave me a phone consult appt. in January. But maybe this is how it is.

For a disease that doesn't really exist, these doctors and herbalists sure are busy :)

Yes, I'm so sorry for not returning your email yet - doing stuff for hubby has kept me extra busy! I've been working on a response this morning though - I promise!

Yep, it's sure interesting that if you have Lyme, it can take months for an herbalist, and MANY months to see a LLMD - yet it's "not a threat" - HA!!! Liars.

LOL! It will be a long wait for me as well!! It's a 3 year program!! But, as you know, I'll share what I can any time I can!!

With the Buhner herbalists - the one I connected with - you may have to send more than one email. Even if you can't get in for months, I would make the appointment and just keep working your protocol. Just to anchor into hope for guidance!

I met this doc at the apitherapy conferernce ..he is the only cardioligist who is a herbalist ...he looks at whole picture

Traveler you're doing herbal studies? That's so cool. I plan to pursue herbalism soon as i get this degree out of the way. What sort of program are you doing?
