Question about previous coinfection results and neuro lyme

Forgive me in advance, my brain is all over the place these last few days. Really foggy.

I was looking through my labwork to bring to my new dr and found these results:
Bartonella henselae - IgM 0.07 (considered negative) IgG 0.63 (also negative; equivocal range is .9-1.10; positive is >1.11)

Babs and Anaplasmosis came back as just negative with no level detected. I'm not a rocket scientist, but isn't the fact that Bart was detected -even slightly-significant?? Do "normal" healthy non-lymies have some level of bart in their blood?? Lyme C6 Peptide was also detected but negative.

Also, does anyone know what IgMAlt is?

And, finally, are there certain abx that help with neurolyme more than others? Neuro stuff is really bad and I want to make sure it's addressed.

No one that I know of, going off of only your tests, would say that .07 was even a response worth considering (because it's not that close to .9)- but this is why we should never rely on lab testing alone.

But, if you have Bart symptoms, a good LLMD will still diagnose and treat for Bart.

As for the IgM ALT - that's a liver test. Where did you score and what was the range? Here is a really good explanation of ALT and what it means: /labtestsonline.org/understanding/analytes/alt/tab/sample/

But - don't let this freak you out! Many of us on here will get high liver enzymes (because of both the infections and treatments), and usually it only takes some extra (more targeted) detoxing, or maybe a little break from treatment to bring those numbers back down. It's just a small bump in the road that's a pain to deal with usually is all.

I can't help with the pharma abx choices, but I"m sure others will be along shortly to help out with that!

IgGAlt is Equivalent and IgMAlt is Positive (same result on follow-up tests). No range or level given. They were listed under the Western Blot with IgG and IgM results.

I don't think I'm understanding why a liver test is reported under the lyme western blot. Does it mean lyme has affected my liver?

Edit: I think I was more concerned that the IgG for Bart was .63 which is closer to the equivalent level of .9.

I would call your doc to confirm what that test was. You don't have to tell them why other than you are curious. I didn't realize that it was being reported on your WB (sorry, sleep deprivation is getting to me!!) - that changes things. It's not your liver they were testing then. It was part of the WB for Lyme antibodies.

So, now that I've confused the heck out of both of us - maybe I should let someone with a working brain answer your questions??? Sheesh! I'm sorry.

I would say that it shows some activity against Bart, but not enough. As usual though, if you have symptoms of Bart, you should treat for it no matter what your tests show.

These tests were done by my LLMD back in August; she never addressed any issue, just told me Bart was negative. I didn't know as much back then to think otherwise! I think I made the right choice in not going back to her!

I would agree with you on having not gone back to that doctor.

I'm not going to even try to remember what you have tested positive for! LOL! If you have Lyme, the possibility of other tick-borne infections rises sharply. If you have symptoms of them, it's conclusive - even with a negative test. That's something I've committed to long term memory, so at least I can count on that being correct! LOL!

It was your post that showed me just how compromised I am right now, so I'm really sorry for that confusion!! Others - with brains that are working better than mine!! - will be along soon though, and I'm sure they will be able to shed some light on this for you.
