Are heart palpitations a part of herxing? been having a strange heartbeat rhythm lately...

I believe that can be, and they can also be part of the disease itself.

Mine's been out of whack lately when I'm having shortness of breath. I put my oximeter on the other day to check my o2 and my pulse was bouncing rapidly throughout a 20 pt. variance spread.

be careful you know what a heart palpitation is versus something else. for a long time i thought i was having palpitations but my heart beat and pulse were fine it was the bartonella like organisms wreaking havoc in the blood vessel lining over my chest wall. the only way to know for sure if you're having palpitations is to wear a holter monitor. either way the bugs usually cause this and effective treatment over time will lessen and hopefully someday eradicate it.

I get palpitations a lot. Prior to my Lyme diagnosis my doc sent me to a cardiologist because she heard a murmur. An echo revealed mitral valve prolapse and regurgitation (I'm 34) and the 48 hour holter showed only minimal palpitations and benign activity. I kept hitting the dang button sure I was having palps galore but my sensations and what actually happened didn't correlate. I know now that it is likely the Lyme. Ho hum!

I had the same symptoms and tried for the easy fix first and got lucky.
As long as your potassium sodium is balanced try 200-400 mg of magnesium. This cleared up the palipitations quickly and helped with muscle tension and sleep. We deplete magnesium quick and it is a calcium channel modulator. It can be a laxative and can relax you to the point of lethargy.
