Thank you Lyme angels.
I'm super sensitive and herx with just about
everything.
Red Sage was awful and I vowed never to take it again and even gave it away to a friend.
Wise, high-priestess of Lyme, Trav, suggested I give in another try.
Well I took the advice from you guys and put one drop in a glass of water and separated it into four dosages.
One drop is in me with no awful herxing. I can feel it but it's manageable. THANKS.
If I ever get up to full dosing of all of this I'll be dancing around the house.

That's awesome Huddie. That's the route I take, and is why I'm only half dose (for me) on the Kw.
But I'll tell you this, I went off my herbs when I was trying to figure out what was going on with my odd stomach and lower neck soreness, and I miss them! I'm back to needing a pain pill every 5 hours instead of 12-24 hours like I was on the Knotweed.
Starting again today, but backing it up to quarter dose on the kw to start since it's been over a week. I'll move up faster than the first time though.
No sense feeling worse than we already do, if we can help it!

i don't know how Huddie did it, but you could use a Pyrex measuring cup...and put the drop in 1 full cup.
Then pour off 1/4 cup for each dose you take.

I'm glad you didn't give up. If you herx from an herb and it's not an allergic reaction, then it means its working.
Don't fall into the trap of stop taking herbs that make you herx (aka effective herbs) and then a year from now you are wondering why you haven't improved.

Thanks everyone,
Dacarte, I was falling into that trap. i was caring for my son's lyme and under treating myself since my abx ended and I decided to do herbs.
How do you know the difference between a herx and an allergic reaction, and are allergic reactions common?
Jenny, I wasn't as scientific as girlie. I put one drop in a glass of water and stirred it. I drank 1/4 every few hours.
July, I agree. Even lower doses definitely are doing some good - at least I me.
Mexlyme, I am talking about
Red Sage. That said, it happens to me with almost everything.

Huddie allergic reactions usually involve a rash. But can also be a constriction of the throat. Itching is an allergic reaction. Reddening of the lips can be a clue to a reaction also.
I got hives on my stomach from an oral antibiotic and it itched to high heaven. It spread all over my torso to places I could not reach to scratch.

Allergic reactions can also be nausea, diarrhea, fever, shortness of breath.
