Tap water filtered through a Brita pitcher with generic filters. I'm fairly certain that all they really prove to do is make the water taste better, leaving various contaminants to get into my system, but I don't have many other options right now.
I love water... A LOT. I drink too much, at least in my opinion. Though, I eat a fair amount of salt, so there's that. Still, it's at least a few liters. So, if I were to drink it out of bottles, I'd spend a fortune every month. An under the sink filter wouldn't work, because of the way the cabinets were built around our sink. The distillers in my price range don't have the best reviews, and the same goes for the filters than go on the faucet.
I'm sure it's contributing to my health in a negative way, beyond the chemical sensitivities and, like you said, possible mast cell issues, but... just another one of the things on the list I need to try and figure out.
Anyway, must say, water's yummy, and I'm glad you guys are drinking the clean stuff. Slightly jealous!
edit: Totally missed the "countertop," Randy. Call me dim, but I did not know that those existed. I've only ever seen the below-the-sink models, as well as those little ones that attach to the faucet head. Something like what you've got could be a great option for me. Awesome!
